Could not have been in a better location with being able to walk to almost all the bars and restaurants in the area. We stayed in unit 21 which was newly renovated and had a great view of the lake. the next time we are in Grand Marias we know where we are staying!

Property was very clean and comfortable. Only concern I have is there is not deadbolt on the door. Owner did express that due to the age of the frame of the door wouldn't support a deadbolt . We were on street level, so we used an alarm we travel with and chairs.

The exterior of the motel was not impressive and we were a bit concerned about how the room may look. Room was a bit small but clean and serviceable with a smaller flat screen TV. The location was across the street from lake Superior and a very short walk. The motel is directly on the street so a few times you could hear louder cars or music (sub woofers) during the night but very minimal. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The location is perfect. Right in town across from the lake. The condition of the property is poor. Looks like they hired the wrong people to to the remodel/repairs. Lots of disrepair. It took 10 minutes of running hot water to get warm water for the shower.

This place needs to be condemned. It’s dirty extremely small. We had hair in the tub, limited hot water, toilet did not like to flush. Old radiators are exposed and dirty. Had a ceiling fan with no blades or lights. Expedia totally left us down on this recommendation. No one is on site to help you out and when you call the number to address issues his comment is no refund. Stay away from this place.

The no contract entry was very convenient. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Motel was within walking distance of shops, restaurants and Lake Superior. Could use updating, but that would not keep us from staying at Harbor View in the future.

High Price/ low conditions
The hotel needed major upgrades. Our room smelled like oil, even our clothes smelled like oil when we got home. It was a great location however considering the condition of the hotel and the smell was very disappointing for the price. We will never stay at this hotel again. We where very disappointed in the cancellation policy. We might not even use hotels.com again due to this reason.

It is what it is; great view though!
Pros: Customer service on the phone was great, and I was accommodated for an early check-in. It felt reasonably clean. And the view of the harbor can't be matched. However the vibe was that of a road side motel and not somewhere you'll want to spend any time in except to shower and sleep. The self check-in was a bit odd; the key was left in the door which seemed a bit unsecured. Overall it's fine without many other options in the area other than resorts.

The bathroom did not meet my expectations. There was no hot water at the sink and the shower only had intermittent hot water. The bathroom was also really tiny. It had been refreshed, but was old fashioned. I won’t go back.

October in Grand Marais
We loved being right across the street from the lake and beach! Also, we were able to easily walk anywhere from the Harbor Inn (including to buy ice since there none on the premises). The room was very clean and pleasant, with an updated bathroom. There is a small refrigerator but no microwave. Overall, great value for the price!

There isn’t a front desk to check you in-the key was in the door. The room is neat and clean. The building if kind of run down. The location is great-right in the middle of town and walkable to the break wall for sunset.

The hotel looked nothing like pictures on internet. Dirty stained carpet, dark and dingy, nothing on the walls but mollys where picture’s did hang. Had to squeeze between the tub and stool in bathroom to close door. A ceiling fan once hung, the blades were missing. When we left , not staying second night, manager said I reserved a standard room.. No sub standard! My granddaughter deserved better, at 200.00 a night that room didn’t even come close!
