"A very relaxing holiday in this comfortable accommodation with great lakeside views and a wide variety of bird life. There are 5 pubs in Barton, some with good food and ales only 15 minute walk away. Sunday lunch in the newly renovated George Inn was particularly tasty and good value. Walks in the Lincolnshire Wolds , a trip to Cleethorpes 30 minutes drive away, and a quick bus caught just down the road took us to Hull in 30 minutes for a day round the old town and marina. Highly recommended...

The added bonus of an on-site tennis court was much appreciated. The position of the was peaceful in spite of a busy main road nearby. "From the moment we walked through the door we felt so at home. Every aspect has been considered by Jude to ensure guests are comfortable and have everything they need for a wonderful stay. "This is a very lovely property in beautiful surroundings. It has everything you need and was fitted out to a high standard. We liked the little pond although it was a bit too chilly to make use f the excellent outside area. A nice place to stay for a night or two.
"The positives: the staff are friendly, efficient, and helpful, but not obtrusive. The room was nice, with no problems with the facilities. There are USB A and C sockets at the plug points. Everything just worked, so we had no need to ask for explanation. It has a pleasant village setting (NOTE - Hotels.com suggested this was IN Gainsborough - it isn't.) You can walk around the village, which has shops/cashpoint in the Co-Op shop/takeaways and pubs, and a really nice old parish church just a few steps away (it happened to be open for the weekend whilst we were there). Within easy drive of other places, but I don't think you could practically stay here if you are reliant on public transport. The room we stayed in is in the main building - this has obviously recently been refurbished (the room was good, but in the corridor: carpet and some fittings still need to be replaced/it smelled slightly of paint), but they'll probably be finished very shortly by the looks of it. Some of the guest rooms are in adjacent buildings, but only a few steps away across the car park. One minor niggle: the internet service seemed to be a bit underpowered for current hotel size and expectations - struggled on a zoom call with wifi (fortunately, this was personal, not business), and the TV buffered a bit with internet services. Whether this is so in all rooms, I cannot say. Personally, I prefer an ethernet access where I can get one, but I understand this may entail extra wiring. Would return"
