"Lovely, spacious, and clean room - but it was extremely hot. It was too noisy to open a window overnight due to the main road being right outside (high volume of lorries/trucks) and there was no AC or fan in the room. We requested a twin room when booking but it was made up as a double on arrival. We called the hotline on the check in info and a lady was with us in 10 mins with 2 twin sheets to change the set up which was good."

"I like this place, check-in was easy and they let me check-in a little earlier than i was supposed too. The room was perfect, bathroom was excellent plenty of hot water for the shower. Really nice place to stay, in the town centre with all amenities available, coffee shops and restaurants. Shopping centre and railway station. "

"Stayed 2 nights in the historic room located in the Lowen Haus that is stunning! Felt like I was in an Architecture Digest video. Service was excellent and so was dinner at the a la carte restaurant; I may even say I had the best meals by far during my 1 week in Switzerland. While the surrounding area is relatively quiet, location of the hotel is just a short walk from Gonten station which takes you to Appenzell town within 15 minutes. P.S., My rental car had a flat tyre on drive over and...

"Our stay at the monastery was incredibly pleasant! The self check in was easy, the grounds are exquisite, and the rooms were lovely and comfortable. We greatly appreciate the Christian artwork! The forest in the surroundings are unmistakably gorgeous. The staff were wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious! We will definitely come back! "
