"Overall good but due to historic building doors bang & lots of creaking floorboards, also traffic and street noise if you are at the front of the building. If you're a light sleeper ask for a car park facing room."

"We loved our night here. Staff were so welcoming, even to my dog. Room was spacious, with a view towards the lake, there was a little balcony with a chair. Bed was comfortable, as was sofa. So many extra touches - full size kettle and mugs, yorkshire teabags, photographs of the nature reserve and the geese on the walls instead of generic hotel pictures, even an alarm clock! I liked it also because it was an actual key for the room, not a card. Direct access in to the service station, with 24 hrs WH Smith shop, and McDonalds. We really like the seating area looking over the lake. Free parking unlike many places now. This is one of my favourite service station stops and so we were delighted to finally stay here - it is a little dated, but so clean, welcoming and so many little extras that made all the difference. It reminded me of how hotels used to be, in a good way! We were delighted and will stay again, thank you. :)"
