Guanabano Beach

We stayed at a “junior suite” and the room needs upgrades and a little more modern look. Room decor is too dark and the lights don’t work well. They turn on and off whenever they want to. Sometimes we slept with all lights on because they wouldn’t turn off even though we hit every switch in the room, then out of nowhere, they turn off when we were about to leave for the day in mid morning. Mini bar is pretty well stocked. The shower in the room is very small and tight. The toilet doesn’t flush properly, it just keeps flowing water so you will see whatever is in toilet just spinning around. All toilets in the hotel are the same so don’t expect any different in other areas. The pool bar smells really bad in the water when you approach it to order. It’s like swimming in toilet water. The buffet area in the omelet station, there were flies going in the bowls of food used to make the omelets. The cook doesn’t notice because they are working but guests in line notice it. It wasn’t flies just flying around, they were literally digging their way in the bowls. The staff thought were really nice and helpful. Can’t complain about them. But the hotel itself for being a Barceló hotel, they need upgrades in the junior suites area.

This was our 7th trip to Casa De Campo. Obviously we love it there obviously! This time we decided to stay there the longest we've stayed, 10 days. We rented a villa like we did in 2025 and had a great experience because we were upgraded because of our Expedia status. But this time we were not upgraded. We weren't even offered an upgrade. This is the first time we haven't been upgraded. Our 3 bedroom villa was on the dark side at night, dimly lit. Also it was on the older side. We were told it is central AC, which we discovered actually meant that the living room had AC. The 3 bedrooms were units. The service at Casa De Campo is exceptional. Hard to describe how good it is. Food is incredible, but very expensive - NYC prices. Since we rented a villa we had a private concierge. We had a great concierge in Francis Lappost - we appreciated that a lot! We are hoping to be back next year with a big group next year and hope we get a great villa and an upgrade like we expect every year. May cut back to 7 days since 10 days wasn't a great experience. Highly recommended as a unique Dominican Experience.

Lo mejor de la propiedad es el servicio de todo su personal (mayordomo, recreación, restaurantes). Lo que menos me gustó fue las condiciones de mi habitación (el AC nunca funcionó al 100% y había un olor no muy agradable)
