"Special mention to the front desk person Sandy. She really helped me out with flight changes, went above and beyond. "I've been travelling in hostals since 35 years. I have never seen so dirty rooms. The place is great, but I felt really not comfortable, and I moved out from hostal as soon as I was able to do. The patio is great, the peole nice, but the rooms have to be redone totally. It's definitly awfull. And I'm not talking about the bathrooms."

"The service at this hotel is unparalleled! I have never received better customer service in any other hotel in my life! They really go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible! This hotel is first class. The hotel is beautiful and very clean! The staff is extremely friendly and courteous! Upon check in I mentioned to my partner that I was hungry after the days travel. While showering in our room, we heard a knock at the door. My partner answered it and the lady said she heard we were hungry, so she brought us a fruit plate to hold us off until we got dinner... 5 stars service! We did have a problem with our air conditioning on our last day, however they made every attempt to fix the issue. Unfortunately it was not able to be fixed during our stay. They did however upgrade us to the premium level which was very nice of them! I will only stay at Barcelo when I am in Guatemala City from now on! Great job!"
