Yutorelo-an was a beautiful ryokan with clean, traditional japonese rooms, onsen, and meals. The communal onsen was excellent, spacious, and sparsely used as there are four private onsens for reservation. The dinner and breakfast were expansive, intricate, and delicious. Included in your reservation are yukata for wearing around the ryokan. The area is convenient to the hakone cable car line, and walkable to many parks, gardens, and local sites. Truly an excellent experience for any price, and astounding affordable.

Very traditional ryokan, excellent kaiseki dining and a lovely onsen including 4 private onsen options.
Property is a little run down and I’m pretty sure that I could smell a stale cigarette smoke in the hallway and the bathroom of our room🤔,but overall a very pleasant stay! Thank you!

Quite an amazing view from the 3rd-floor rooms. The hotel is peaceful, with unlimited hot water and onsen use.

The Kaiseki breakfast and dinner were high quality. However,
Beautiful hotel up the mountains. Hotel is rustic although the room we had was beautiful (luxury) and had a new bath outside on the balcony which was lovely. Dinner was awesome if you like fish. Views are immense.
Best Ryokan we found in Japan our entire trip, also saw guest checking in past 6pm like indicated on hotels.com so good to know for future. Highly recommended this place from well travelled couple.
The stay was fine, check-in was not smooth and the reception staff was not very helpful. You can’t drive to the entrance of the hotel, it’s quite a long walk from the parking with heavy luggages. I would not recommend this hotel to any senior traveler or people with disability.
