  • I would not usually consider a garden a must-see experience, but I am really glad a local told us to visit Hamilton Gardens. The experience of wandering through a maze of hedges that open into perfectly cultivated gardens plucked complete from other countries and other eras was quite possibly the closest I will ever come to feeling like Alice in Wonderland come to life. You never know what magical sight waits around the next bend in the path.

  • A few kilometres downstream from Lake Taupo the river changes to some rapids for a short distance. When the rapids finish there is a drop which creates a waterfall. It all ends with this scene which is stunning. Only a 30 second walk from the car park to the river this shot was taken about a 5 minute walk further downstream on the main track at sunrise.

We were very comfortable in this little apartment and it was well-situated, being handy for local shops and restaurants. We had everything we needed for self catering, although the oven could have done with a clean and the tumble dryer wasn't very good. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Quest as a chain.

1 night in Hamilton for work

Great value for money, near the center of Hamilton. Room itself was great, very comfortable bed, spacious living area and kitchen, as well as a washer. Next time i am in Hamilton will definitely stay here, near where i needed to be for work at Seddon Oval, and wasn’t too expensive. Checkin process was also easy, friendly front desk staffer who should be given a raise for shuttling between the 2 quest properties in Hamilton. Other quest i have stayed at as well and only have good things to say about that as well

Very nice

Check in was a bit odd (no one was there, I think due to the holiday, so it was just talking to someone through a remote speaker). Parking extremely limited, wasn't available behind the building (though the city has low-cost options not too far away). That said, it was a very nice apartment. Clean, updated, washer/dryer single unit, full kitchen. Bed was comfortable, location is downtown Hamilton. Price was reasonable. Overall enjoyed my stay!

A comfortable central apartment

Overall we enjoyed staying here. Apartment was spacious, comfortable and conveniently located. We paid for secure parking and was glad we did. Car park area was close to accommodation and had good security. Apartment had good amenities and was close to shops, eateries and river. I had not noticed the reference to special instructions for check in and this was more involved than I had anticipated. I would advise guests to make contact in advance of stay, to deal with bond and possible need for out of hours check-in. Pre-payment was not sufficient on its own to secure entry.
