Great location and clean-modern hotel

This hotel cost is fraction of those in downtown Chicago. It is also conveniently located between Michigan and Chicago. 35-min drive to downtown Chicago. Save time to drive back to Michigan. Breakfast is very simple with limited items. I wish they offer Oatmeal rather than Grits.

I would pass on this property! I e stayed at this property dozens of times due to the location. I have family that lives close by. Well, I hadn’t stayed there in over a year, and will definitely not stay in the future. Trash on the floor in the hallways, carpets are disgustingly(especially near the elevators) and the smell of cigarettes and marijuana coming through the vents was horrible!

My wife and I spent 5 nights at the hotel and we had spoken to the front desk about the lack of housekeeping. Knowing that the room is cleaned every other day, we never had any kind of attention to our room. We spoke to the front desk on day 3 and yo get clean towels , but it was never followed up. We checked out on day 5 and spoke to the manager on duty about the lack of housekeeping. The trash was overflowing, we had no clean towels and no linen changes in 5 days. When we checked out, we got “sorry about that” and that was the end of it. We travel to Indiana every year and we will stay elsewhere next time.

The hotel was fine and most of the staff was fine as well. We needed bedding for the pullout bed and they didn’t want to bring them to the room the person on the phone was frustrated we wanted the bedding brought to the room. The lady working in the breakfast area was just down right rude and nasty and not helpful at all

There was a large bag of trash on the floor in front of the third floor elevators our entire stay. Housekeeping obviously put it there and forgot about it. Also, 2/2 treadmills out of order. Ice machine out of order. Breakfast was absolutely terrible. By far the worst in my 5 days of traveling cross country. Where are the scrambled eggs? So simple.

Check went well. That’s the best they had. No room cleaning of any kind. Had to go to check in to get more towels. 3 night stay with no housekeeping. When checking out all I could get for an answer to what to do with my room cards was a grunt. Workers couldn’t be bothered with their conversation to help.

I did not like the charging us for a room we did not stay in due to an unexpected, but necessary stop enroute. The unexpected stop was at another Hampton Inn in Xenia, Ohio due to my inability to continue driving in a nighttime environment. I am very near 80 years old and have some disabilities from 30 years if Marine Corps service. The Hampton Inn chain benefitted for all three days.

I think we are done staying at Hampton Inn's. It was almost ~ok~ but definitely lacking. 1. The bed was low quality. 2. We were there for 2 nights and housekeeping didn't come after the first night. The beds weren't made and there were towels we placed on the floor, needing to be replaced, but they weren't. 3. The breakfast was substandard. They had cereal, juice, coffee, waffles, biscuits, sausage and gravy and scrammbled eggs. They didn't have any yogurt, hard boiled eggs, danishes, bagels or fruit of any kind. Also, many of the items they did have ran out prior to the end of breakfast time. Most hotels do a much better job with breakfast. Disappointing. We won't be back.
