The hotel has a nice contemporary design overall, and the rooms are comfortable and well designed. However, the property did not feel as refined or well maintained as I expected for a hotel at this level. Some of the common areas are showing considerable wear — the carpet by the elevators, for example, was visibly stained and really looked as though it needed a deep cleaning or replacement. My non-smoking room also had a very faint but noticeable residual smell of cigarette smoke.
Breakfast was particularly disappointing. The selection was quite limited, which would have been fine if the quality had been better, but both the food and the coffee were mediocre. Overall, nothing was dramatically wrong, but the accumulation of these details made the hotel feel less polished than its design and positioning would suggest.
