This is a cute historic house that’s newly renovated. It actually was roomier than we expected from the pictures. Perfect location-a short walk down to the beach and a short walk into town. The neighbors were friendly and we got a whole history lesson on the red house and the surrounding area.
The Wi-Fi was adequate but patchy. Apparently that’s the nature of Wi-Fi in Cross Village. The Community Center, which is always open, is the only reliable place if you need it to be (one in our party had an online job interview).
Of course the lake was beautiful and the main attraction. We swam every day and watched the sunset every night.
We loved our stay at the red house and would love to return someday!
The Red Cabin is "in town" in Cross Village - the property abuts the (not very busy) main drag. But it feels more like a town house in a village than a cottage on a lake.It is almost like two separate units - with full kitchens on both floors. The upstairs porch is nice.
