The south-facing ocean beach even has a gentler slope that the kids will prefer. Your vacation home is an upscale summer retreat with easy access to the beach and the village. You will appreciate the enclosed under-house shower when you return from the beach. Hang out in the open living area which features a cathedral ceiling, warm cypress wood paneling, comfy furniture, a flatscreen smart TV with YouTube streaming, free WiFi, and access to the sundeck. Gaze at postcard views of sea birds, the beach, kite surfers, dolphins, and more. Bring out your inner chef in the full kitchen which opens to the oceanfront dining area. Or throw a little char on your meal with the outdoor grill. Relax in the oceanfront main suite with deck access and a private bath, bedroom two with convenient access to the hall bath, or bedroom three featuring a pyramid bunk and single bed.     Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather.

Lovely cottage

Perfect for our family of four with our dog. Beautiful cottage, easy beach access. The cottage was quaint with books and beach decor, comfy beds and furniture and well-equipped kitchen.

It was a very comfortable place and for the most part clean, we would love to stay again. The only issue was the master Bedroom shower drained very slow and the recliner chairs were broken.

Perfect beach cottage for small family

This house was perfection for our family of 4 with two dogs, the monster houses aren’t necessary for us and it’s hard to find a smaller pet friendly house on the beach. So this was all we needed! Plenty of space and all we needed. Loved the way they kept the nostalgic old beach house items while also keeping it up to date. Access to the beach was amazing. We will happily consider returning!

Quaint Beach Cottage

We've stayed at this home 3 years now and its perfect for our smaller family of 4-6 people that have varied over the years and our pets! It's right in the heart of hatteras village with easy access to everything. The beach walk is steep but we usually off-road anyway and go down there for only beach walks. The house is well-maintained and bathrooms nicely renovated. They have everything you'd need in terms of kitchen and living spaces, and whats great for us is a dog crate! Love this home and hope to be back again!

Beautiful and peaceful week

We had an awesome week at Hunter Haven! The beach decor was perfect! We had everything we needed and wanted. The king bed was roomy and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped. We were happy we could bring along our 2 little dogs Yogi and Clementine who had a great time. We found amazing shells and the weather was perfect. The food was delicious. I recommend Pelican gallery and gifts! Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Dawn and Scott

Wonderful Home! Definitely Recommend!

We absolutely loved this home, it was perfect for my boyfriend & I! The furniture was comfortable, and the beds were so comfortable. Plenty of room for the two of us, with more than enough room for extra guests if you have them. I loved everything about the decor - thoughtfully & tastefully decorated to perfection. We never turned the television on once, we used wifi to bluetooth music through our speakers and had such a peaceful, relaxing week. The sand path to the beach is a gentle slope, and the boardwalk is close by as well. I've stayed at several houses on Summerplace Drive, and have always wondered about the little cabin on the oceanfront. Now I know, it's a gem! We will definitely be back, as Hatteras is my second home. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Amazing location, let down on the house quality.

TLDR - House was the perfect size and location for our family of four but fell short on cleanliness and overall maintenance of the home. We had a larger portion of our family staying in a big house on this street so finding this as an option to be next door was excellent. The size of the home was perfect for my us and our 2 kids and would have comfortably fit 2 families if the kids were okay to share the bunk room. It was easy to get up and over the dune right to the beach and the house was equipped with everything we needed including kitchen items (no spices though) and games. The house was dirtier than we expected. Any kitchen items that hadn't recently been used needed washed out. The carpets had many stains and we felt a bit uncomfortable walking on them with no shoes. We ended up putting a blanket down to sit with the kids. The shower curtains were moldy. There were many flies and a couple of roaches (the outdoor kind just making their way in). The windows and doors were all in need of repairs or replacement. Humidity was trapped in the glass. Many didn't close the whole way which was likely the source of the extra bugs. All other appliances and household systems worked well. We got a good response from Vacasa for a speedy repair to the deck chairs and a sliding door to the deck that wouldn't open or close all the way but they said they would have someone come shampoo the carpet and never followed through on it. Great location, good space, disappointing house.

Beautiful house and very clean and right on the water just a tiny walk to the beach. Just a note that you cannot see the water from the deck. The view of the dunes is still beautiful though.
