Perfect Getaway

We had a great time staying at the lodge. Lots of room for the kids to roam and overall a really one of a kind place that we’ll definitely come back to.

Great getaway

We have a group of teachers who get away to this cabin every year in the early spring. It's always a great location. Close enough to go out hiking or to Berkeley springs for people that want to do that, but plenty of space to hang out if you just want to rest and relax around the property.

June 27th through July 12th Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We couldn't have asked for a better location and Larry was phenomenal at responding to any questions we had. There was a total of nine of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. Would definitely stay there again.

Weekend Getaway

This cabin was great for my friends & I to get together for the weekend with their kids. Plenty of room for sleeping & playing. The cabin is quaint & peaceful while being 25 mins from town. Larry was good about answering any of our questions.

Larry was VERY accommodating and helpful. The house and property have a charm to it that made for relaxing evenings. Plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Secluded peaceful stay

Check in process was easy as was check out. Communication with owner was easy. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to meet the host but my sister did. This was a great place to relax between our hectic schedule. While i didn't have much time to enjoy it the rest of family did. The kids loved the trails and the bulls. I think we have all agreed that we would love the stay again when we can just relax and enjoy the area instead of last minute wedding arrangements!

Great place to get away!!

Massive. Unique. My group loved it. 12 adults of all ages in an epilepsy support group. Fireplace is wonderful. You’ll love it.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We traveled from DC for a quick weekend away. It was a group of kids (ages 2-7) and adults. There was plenty of space in the house to spread out and lots to explore. We loved the big fireplace in the living room. The listing could benefit from more information about what's provided but Larry was responsive and helpful with any questions I had. It was a great weekend getaway. Would definitely visit again.

Misinformation

The description of the property did not give the whole picture. It did not say that if mobility was an issue this property is not for you. The stairs to the bedrooms were very difficult to climb. They were narrow with a handrail on one side. Having a bad knee made them almost impossible. All the bedrooms were upstairs. If there had been an emergency getting down would be disastrous. I don't know if this property would pass fire codes. Larry the property check in person was very nice and helpful. The property seemed well maintained but way too rustic for my taste.

Lovely farewell to 2023

This home was exactly what we were looking for. The location is wonderful, and the rustic charm is etched in our memories. We enjoyed fires in the large fireplace as well as the kitchen stove the entire time we were there. They provided plenty of firewood for us. The hot tub was perfect after our hiking adventures, which are easily accessible in every direction. There was more than enough room for us as we were only 2. The only hiccup was checking in, as we did not hear from Larry after several attempts. We showed up and luckily the door was unlocked. Larry showed up the next morning and apologized and said he had an emergency, and we completely understood. But it was a little unsettling to show up to this place in the middle of the woods at dusk and not knowing if we were going to be able to get inside. Other than that, we surely hope to be back for another visit!

Rustic getaway in WV

We chose this location for a girls’ weekend. The property is very private with beautiful views! It is very rustic, perfect for a trip to the mountains/ woods. All beds are on the second floor, up a narrow set of ladder steps. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy time away

Rustic WV Lodge

Overall we had a good time on our stay. We had just the right amount of kids and adults to fit the beds available. Beds: left wing had 3 rooms (2 with doors) and all with double beds, there were 2 bunk beds in the loft area (only 2 had mattresses), right wing had 2 rooms (1 with a double and a single) (1 with two doubles). There were 4 window A/C units. This was like camping at a lodge. Small oven, old microwave, small stovetop. 1 working drip coffee maker.Larry was very immediate with responses. The listing just needs to be updated for people to be able to make the best decision for their group.

Beautiful property

This property is amazing. The lodge was very clean , cozy and secluded. It was perfect for a relaxing weekend with friends and family. Larry was a great host and had the woodstoves going for us when we arrived. If you're looking for a place to get away with lots of privacy and beautiful views, this is it!

Annual Man Camp

The house and property were perfect for our needs. The house is charmingly rustic. The grounds are isolated and spacious. We had such a good time we are planning to return next year.
