Excellent location in the Alstadt area. Clean room, friendly staff and a welcome bottle of mineral water added to the stay. Comfortable beds, bright room. Very close to shops, the castle ruins and the Old Bridge.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Perfect location, walking distance to all attractions. The hotel has its own gates parking structure. Breakfast was great, with a nice selection of food. The front desk staff was very helpful, suggesting and arranging dinner reservations. We highly recommend this hotel

The property is very nice and tastefully renovated for an older building. The location is beyond compare and puts most of the old city, university District, and the castle within an easy walking distance. The real standout was one of the Front Desk people… Philip… Who was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and really as good as it gets. Oh, and one other thing, watch out for the photo radar in and around the hotel when the speed limit suddenly changes from 50 to 30 km an hour. It happens quickly and without warning and boom you will have a ticket.

Very nice unique rooms. The AC works very well and is quiet. Their parking garage is tight, but offers enough parking space for roughly 14 cars. The bed was comfy and the room and bathroom are spacious. It’s conveniently located in the Old Town of Heidelberg. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We slept in long, which is always a great sign how quiet it was.

We had a pleasant but ultimately mixed stay at Arthotel Heidelberg. While the superb central location in the Old Town was the major highlight, making the Christmas markets and main sights easily walkable, and the room itself was spacious, well-furnished, and very clean with excellent Wi-Fi, the service and amenities did not consistently meet expected 4-star standards. For example, while the bed was comfortable and slippers were provided, the room was cold (thermostat capped at 24∘C), and there was only small pillow per person provided initially. We appreciated the hotel staff's quick response when we requested extra blankets and pillows, which helped a lot for the rest of our stay. The largest shortfall was the lack of essential daily service and amenities, especially considering the hotel's premium positioning. The complimentary bottled water was only provided on the first night and never replenished, and the extremely small toiletries were insufficient for two people over four nights and were also not restocked daily. Furthermore, standard 4-star features like a minibar/fridge were missing, and damp towels were not replaced daily when they could not adequately dry in the cold room. We paid for the full 4-star experience, expecting proactive attention to detail, but found the daily service to be basic and lacking. Ultimately, we loved the location and the room's quality, but the service needs significant improvement to truly earn its star rating.
