Bad experience
When I arrived there was no one at reception. Eventually a nice French gentleman came but couldn't find my booking. He did give me a room but had to knock on my door to get to sign in. I always ask for a quiet room. My room faced directly onto the busy main rod outside with trucks and buses etc. passing by all night. At 8.00 am or so they started construction inside the hotel with screaming drills and sawing noises. Never again at Wiking Hotel

Don't arrive after 10pm
I arrived after 10pm following a late flight to Hamburg Airport. I had made the hotel aware of my late arrival. I was under the impression that the hotel was 11 miles from the airport but it was further. A taxi would have cost £90 from the airport to the hotel, there was no hotel shuttle. Travelling as a single older lady public transport to the hotel at the time of night was daunting. At 10.30pm the hotel was in darkness and the front door locked. A notice on the door, instructions to go to the back entrance. No one was around, everything was silent. I phoned the hotel number, no answer. Phoned following instructions "Call in emergency number" I hesitantly phoned thinking I would be calling the police! Thankfully a porter on the line gave instructions to key in a code to open a letterbox which contained my details and room key. There was no water or tea/coffee making facility, no room service. I was hungry & thirsty. Towels were very old and worn. Clock in dining room did not work. Lift was out of order. I booked via Expedia and was unable to cancel the following 2 nights which I did not want. £149 for one nights stay was an expensive and unpleasant experience. I checked out after the first night! Not a tourist hotel but I imagine for workers who use it as a base to get to work. Only about 6 men residents there!

Needs Improvement
Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our stay (4 nights) at all. The check in process was friendly and efficient, the room itself was clean and reasonably comfortable. The beds were also comfortable. That's all the positives. The negatives are as follows: limited range of breakfast items (no fresh fruit at all and the coffee was cold every morning). Bread rolls not fresh and of poor quality. Range of cold cuts and cheese was ok. Cost of breakfast was supposed to be included in the room rate but when checking out we were charged an extra 48 Euros for this. The staff member at first refused to refund the overcharge stating she didn't know how! We suggested she phone her boss and find out which she eventually did (but very sulkily and with no apology). Our room was directly opposite the lift and very noisy. We could hear every word of other guests conversations while they were waiting to use the lift. A sports team using the hotel partied into the early hours keeping us awake for most of one of the nights. We hardly slept for the 4 nights we stayed due to the noise of other guests. Finally the towels are too small and almost threadbare, they should be replaced.

Good hotel
I thought the hotel was good overall. It is not in Hamburg which is where we thought it was. There is no restaurants really near by unless you want to eat fast food. Also, did not have English channels on tv which sucked because I like to wake up with some news.

Das Zimmer war sehr eng und für einen Aufenthalt bei z.B. schlechtem ungeeignet. Die Lobby steht nur während der Öffnungszeiten der Rezeption zur Verfügung. Also weder am Abend oder am Sonntag ab 13.00 Uhr.

War sehr positiv überrascht, äußerlich nicht gerade attraktiv, aber innen scheinbar recht neu renoviert und sehr ordentlich und sauber. Frühstück bis zum Ende mit gut gefülltem Buffet. Leider negativ das Bad, obwohl sauber und neuwertig keine einzige Ablage für die Toilettenartikel und keine Halter oder Haken für Handtücher --. Das Waschbecken könnte auch eine Nummer größer sein. Angaben betreffen das Zimmer 99. Ach so, die Matratzen sind sehr gut!

Durch Corona waren nur wenige Gäste vor Ort . Entsprechend angenehm ruhig war mein Aufenthalt. Hervorragende Betreuung der Rezeptionistin rundete alles ab .

A déconseiller...mauvaise expérience
Le parking de l’hôtel est très petit et vite complet avant 18h. Le wifi fonctionne à la réception mais pas dans les chambres, pas de fer à repasser disponible alors que cela est indiqué dans l’annonce et on vous indique une adresse plus loin pour repasser votre chemise à 19h... Très bruyant les portes claquent, vous entendez les conversations de vos voisins en haut, sur le côté...bref très déçu car je n’ai pas voulu tenir compter de la mauvaise note de l’hôtel. La prochaine fois je serais plus attentif.

Sauberes Hotel an einer Hauptstraße. Das Zimmer war klein, dafür aber sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet war OK. Für eine Übernachtung (oder auch mehr) ist das Hotel absolut ausreichend und zu empfehlen.

Ok övernattning
Rent hotell med nyrenoverat badrum på vårt rum. Ok frukost. Gratis parkering hos hotellet. Vi kom sent och fick en svit som var mycket stor men inte särskilt lyxig. Hotellet har några år på nacken men funkar bra för en övernattning.

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber gut!
Suchte kurzfristig ein Doppelzimmer Nähe Hamburg und wurde hier schließlich fündig. Wir wurden am Empfang freundlich bedient und konnten das Zimmer auch rasch bekommen, ca. 10 Min. nach eigentlicher Check-In Zeit! Unser DoZi lag im 3. Stock nach hinten raus, somit eigentlich perfekt. Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig und Lärm vom Gang dringt doch hinein. Das Zimmer und Bad waren sauber, ohne Beanstandung! Das Frühstücksbuffet war gut und für Uns wirklich ausreichend. Da das Hotel etwas voller war, mußten wir nur kurz auf einen Platz warten. Der Platz wurde dann aber auch sofort durch das Personal gesäubert und neues Besteck/Geschirr aufgestellt. Die eigenen Hotelparkplatzmöglichkeiten sind deutlichst begrenzt, jedoch befindet sich direkt neben dem Hotel sofort ein großer "kostenloser" Parkplatz eines Verbrauchermarktes. Dort hatten wir gut parken können. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich alle soweit in fußläufiger Entfernung.
