Great Stay

We had a great stay and Mrs. Willene was a wonderful host! The property is in-between Helen and Hiawassee and right down the road from Brasstown bald! Great location and beautiful mountains! Would be perfect in the summer time to be able to enjoy the river more that runs behind the property. Definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our 3 days at the cabin. The creek was wonderful sitting and feeding the fish.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

My husband and I came for an early anniversary trip. The cabin was perfect for a couple. The creek behind the cabin was the main reason we chose the cabin and it did not disappoint. The location was extremely convenient to Helen, GA. The owner was very helpful with suggestions of places to go sightseeing. Definitely a place we'd love to stay again.

Georgia great

The cabin was in a perfect location. To travel to Helen, NC, see the natural sites such as waterfalls and Indian mounds were all easy and quick from the clean and lovely location. The property was extremely lovely with a backyard mountain stream, bq grill, tables,chairs and fire pit. I hope to return to Hiawassee again and will 100% rebook here.

Anniversary Get Away

Perfect little getaway spot. Great location between Helen and Hiawassee. Just as advertised too. Has everything you need and the owner is just wonderful. I highly recommend staying here. We certainly will when back in that area. Thank you Willene.

Fun mini Vacation

Enjoyed the closeness to Helen right on the side of mountain. Nice stocked fish pond however not allowed to fish. Cabin was clean, neat and well stocked. Close to heavily trafficked road.

Great weekend visit

Hostess greeted us timely and warmly. Property was clean and spacious for two. Stream with trout ( for watching only) was a real plus. Property location was ideal for Brasstown Bald, Hiawassee, and Helen, with multiple hiking trails very close by. Everything but wineglasses. Really liked this cottage and Willene!

Very nice place!

The property was really great. We enjoyed being next to the river, and we were about halfway between Hiawassee and Helen. Good communication with property owner when we had cell signal. Honestly, my only complaints would be that the bed was too hard for mine and my husband's liking, and that the floors could've used a good sweeping/vacuuming.

Great stay near the River

Loved our second time at this stay - great river scene, easy to relax by. Everything was supplied, having a washer and dryer made it nice to wash everything there when we were ready to leave. If you have Verizon, the service now works in this location (along with most other services)! Helen with tubing adventures is just 20 minutes away, and several hiking trails nearby as well. Only thing I would suggest is a mattress topper, the bed was a little hard, but everyone's preference with the mattress being soft/hard is different!

Misleading

Advertised as a secluded cabin but it’s a duplex right off the main highway. TV did not work was not the cleanest. Food was left in fridge from previous tenants. Grounds were ok but you must supply your own firewood. Enjoyed the area it’s located in but the stay at the “cabin” duplex was very misleading.

Great Place for Accessing Adventures and Also Relax

My wife and I stayed here for our first anniversary. Mrs. Haigler was accommodating and very kind. The house is in a unique location. In the backyard, the Hiawassee River converges with a stream where you can feed trout (no fishing allowed there). You can grill and just sit back and relax if you want (we like being on the move). On the front side, you can hear the traffic zip by in the house as it can be busy but it is a great spot for accessing numerous points of interest. You have a nice, spacious driveway and the house is about 30 feet from the road. We were not at the house very much as we love to go on adventures and this place is ideal for being able to get out and go. You're less than an hour away from Tallulah Falls and less than 30 minutes away from many hikes and lookouts, lakes, antique shops, fishing locations, and more. You're closer to Hiawassee (maybe 15 minutes' drive) and only 30 minutes from Helen (albeit, the traffic to Helen is a bear...think 1+ hours traffic jam on peak days ). If you enjoy nice drives back to your place without sacrificing lots of time, this is a great place. The house is quaint and has all the essentials you'll need for a full-length stay. The Haiglers are definitely considerate and mindful of all the dishes, utensils, towels, bedding, etc. one would need for their stay. The only thing we really wished was different was the couch. It has seen some years and is not very comfortable anymore and hard to lay on. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our stay and are very thankful to be able to visit. It really is a great place to be right nearby so many places to visit. Thank you again to the Haiglers!
