Our recently renovated and upgraded 2 bedroom, 1 bath condo in Hilo is beachfront next to Carlsmith Beach Park where you can swim and snorkel all day every day and get up close to the sea turtles! Master bedroom has an A/C unit for cooling after a long day of exploring. Your home-away-from-home has everything you need for the perfect getaway or extended vacation. Large Ocean view screened lanai with table and chairs. The living room is the perfect place to relax after a long day sight-seeing around the Big Island. The kitchen is well-equipped with ideal for making those delicious island meals using all the ingredients you picked up at the Hilo Farmer's Market, Suison Fish market and local grocery store. The host was welcoming and responsive. The unit was comfortable and had extras like fans , coffee pods for Keurig, plenty of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We enjoyed the view from the screened in lanai as well as the easy access to Carlsmith Park.
This place was very clean and looked just like the photos. Well equipped with everything we needed. Air conditioner in master bedroom was great. Lots of fans in living area was sufficient for during the day.
Beautiful views of the ocean from the lanai, very peaceful spot to read a book or just enjoy the scenery and cool breezes. Great little swimming spot next door and pretty much everything you needed was provided. Our family really enjoyed our time here!
A very nice place to stay. The view was so nice from the lanai, overlooking Carlsmith beach park. Having an air conditioner in the main bedroom was a plus
The apartment was nicely decorated with beautiful views of the ocean. The building itself is older but clean. We were able to snorkel in the bay and saw multiple turtles! Thank you for a great stay!

The property is in a great location. We loved being next to the beach park with the beautiful view. Very well equipped kitchen. Very nice to have AC in the bedroom, and we had enough breeze and fans to stay cool in the rest of the unit. Our host even messaged us one evening to let us know that the volcano was active. Lovely stay!
Great location. An older building that has good security. There is an allocated parking space. The apartment is spacious, clean, quiet. Comfortable king bed. Kitchen has everthing you need for self catering.
This unit was a nicely appointed remodel in an older building. The view was beautiful, looking out over the gardens, pool and Carlsmith Park. It was very clean and comfortable, close to downtown and the airport. Within the building, each floor had one washer and dryer, most all were in disrepair and the pool was closed, no fault to the individual unit. Overall, very casual, quiet and relaxing place with a beautiful screened in balcony, furnished nicely.
This is the second time we've stayed in this condo. The first time was 2015 and i loved it so much we had to return. Nice remodel since we were there. It is clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen if you want to cook. I love going out every morning and swimming at Carlsmith Park with the sea turtles. The park does get busy in the afternoon but was quiet again by 4 or so. Convenient location to Volcanoes National Park, akaka falls and more. lady.
This was the most well stocked place we’ve ever stayed in. It overlooks Carlsmith Beach, which we started each day with swimming/snorkeling. Enjoyed the screened in patio and watching the kitties and roosters. There isn’t air conditioning but I know a lot of places don’t have it. The owner is very thoughtful with leaving chocolates and shell necklaces. We would definitely go back.

When I booked I requested an early check-in which the property manager said would be no problem. However, she then texted me the day before our arrival to tell me this wasn't possible. When I complained she then made arrangements to get us in an hour early. We were also given the wrong name for the key lock box (Honu Ekahi given instead of Honu Elua) but these were overall not big deals.
Communication with property manager Iliahi was easy through the VRBO app text and she responded promptly. Overall, this is a lovely condo to use as a base to explore the East side of the Big Island.
Bring quarters if you plan to do laundry! The laundry is outside the condo and costs $2.25 for wash and $2.25 for dry.
We loved our stay at this property. It was an older complex, but very well maintained and had some nice updates inside. Because our stay was in August, it did get warm in the unit at times due to no A/C throughout; however the bedroom with the A/C was always cool and the many fans helped a lot. It has an awesome view and the property is adjacent to a park with a beautifully secluded swimming lagoon.
An old building, but a clean, well furnished two-bedroom unit. The location is excellent, even has a direct entrance to Carlsmith Park, great location for snorkeling, with many fish and even turtles, including a very large one that must weigh-in at 200 pounds. All dealings with the host were clear and informative. I enjoyed Hilo and the surrounding sights. Better restaurants than Maui since they need the return business of the locals. I was even able to use my YoutubeTV and AppleTV accounts on the smart TV.
This condo was fantastic! It was in a nice location next to a bay that is great for wading or swimming. The view from the sitting area is incredible and you can hear the waves of the ocean at all times. The kitchen has great supplies and we were able to cook breakfast in the morning. The main bedroom has AC which was great as we aren’t use to the heat at night. Opening the two doors let a nice breeze in during the day. The beach chairs, umbrella and cooler were a great surprise and made our beach trip so much more enjoyable! The dual showerhead was amazing as well! Just down the road from a great spot to watch the sunrise too. Communication was prompt with all questions we had. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Hilo area!
