Well kept for an older style hotel. Location is very nice easy to get where you are going from here. But remember to bring a charging station with you for your devices.

Reeds Bay was clean, friendly staff, close to everything, but for sure it’s for the minimalist! No AC, Steps only and worst of all the WiFi was terrible

The hotel was more dated than we expected, but was very clean and well maintained. We knew there was no A/C, but the ceiling fan was more than sufficient and there was even a standing fan if we needed it. The staff were great too. The location was excellent and he view from the balcony was beautiful - overlooking the bay. We will definitely stay there again.

Generally this is a good place to stay. The view is fantastic and you can see the bay from the balcony of the room directly. The only issue is that there is no AC. Therefore, it is not a good idea to live here if the weather is too hot. The facilities are a little bit old but it still well deserves the price. If you are pursuing quality-price ratio, this is a very good choice.

The hotel is definitely old with limited parking. First impressions aside, it is located on the bay in a quiet part of Hilo. The rooms too were old and had not been renovated in a while, but ours was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room was clean , has a kitchen with refrigerator, the only thing we were dissatisfied with was no AC they had 2 standing fans and a ceiling fan but being summer it was really hot and hard to sleep .. Staff was very friendly and of course it’s an older property but for the price it was good .

Liked: 1) Great location by the ocean and across Banyan Drive from Naniloa Golf Course and Lili’uokalani Gardens; 2) Convenient parking; and 3) Easy access to Highways 11, 19, and 200 (primary highways). Disliked: 1) Less than friendly reception during our evening arrival; 2) Tired and worn condition with ad hoc repairs and “updates;” 3) Dreary double-loaded corridors; 4) Lack of balcony; 5) Unappealing pool with a nearly unfurnished deck area (no user of the pool area observed); and 6) Jet noise of the 6:00 AM flight from Hilo International Airport.

Room was reasonably spacious and kitchenette was useful. While I could connect to the WIFI in my room, internet connection was spotty and cell service was difficult to maintain. No AC in the room, only fans and windows to cool down. Swimming pool looked good, although I didn’t have time to try it. 5 min drive to most food options. TV in reception has the webcam for Kilauea, which is useful if that is why you are in Hilo (which I was). 45 min drive to Volcano National Park.

Clean, okay for price, but there's no elevator or AC. Ceiling fans in the room, but they do nothing for the humidity. Cell phone reception and Wi-Fi are next to non-existent. If you decide to stay here, get a room that doesn't face the apartment complex next door. Extremely noisy!! Walking distance to 3 restaurants, and a very short walk to the bay. It's an old hotel, and the rooms are small, but it does have a nice fridge.
