Very conveniently located right by the train station and a short walk to the castle. Nice room, very clean, but the entry is a little confusing. Also, I made a reservation for 1, but they had me down as 2 people and said they wouldn't refund me for a change in my plans, but I had no change. I was never reserving for 2 people, It was their error, but was too tired to argue with them.

Extremely convenient location at the train station but room didn't feel it. Facing the station but noise was minimal. Short walk to the castle also

The location is great. Right at the train station with lots of shops and restaurants within few minutes of walking distance. The castle is at the end of the shopping corridor which is nice. The reception area has complementary coffee and the staff are polite and helpful. The room is small but it is not unusual in Japan. Would recommend for people visiting Himeji.

The most important aspects were ticked. The 3 stars do not do this hotel justice. Exemplary in all respects. Would happily stay here again. In fact did not want to checkout.

Excellent location within 5 min walk from station and buses to Himeji Castle. Public bath/spa is always welcome. Breakfast location is great, enjoy eating with view of castle in distance! This hotel is an older property but aging well. A very minor issue is access to hotel can be a little confusing at first but will get used to it quickly. Recommended.

The bedding is so hot it’s unusable. Bring your own blanket or go without. Really nice hotel otherwise. Just needed some sleep. I had my room near freezing and I was still sweating under that huge duvet.

The hotel is located right next to the station which is very close to doing streets and malls. More importantly, it's is very close to the main bus terminal to access the castle and shoshazan engyoji easily. Rooms are updated and the hotel has a very classical look.

Great location as just few mins walking distance from Himeji Station. Mall and shops locate downstairs and with cafe & convenience store just around the corner, aka super convenient! Staff members are helpful, room is clean and cozy, will definitely stay here again next time.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The main areas of the hotel were fabulous but the rooms could do with a refurb. The sauna and bath is worth a visit and breakfast was delicious with lots of choice.The view of the castle from the restaurant was amazing! The castle was about a 20 min walk. I recommend this hotel.

nice! next to station makes it perfect for short visit to the city to see the Himeji castle. Hotel has a lawson on its level 1 and is next to the shopping street. Hotel has a complimentary sento bath too

This hotel is located just next to JR Himeji station. It is very convenient. There is a big hot bath facility and sauna.

The Monterey Hotel is so conveniently located to Koko-en Garden, Himeji Castle, shopping, restaurants and trains. The buffet breakfast was great. We loved staying there.

Amazing value for the quality!
