You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

River-Front Cottage On The Juniata River

Peaceful cabin with screened-in porch, large deck, fully equipped kitchen. Sit on the porch swing and watch the river. Or take a float in your kayak or tube, there are steps to the river between our two cabins as well as plenty of public launch points nearby. Close access to the river lets you swim or fish to your heart's content. We have 2 one-person kayaks available with paddles and life jackets. Must sign a waiver to use the kayaks.
A birder's paradise! We've seen osprey, eagles, herons and other water birds, as well as countless songbirds. Add your spottings to our list!
Visit historical sites like Old Bedford Village or the Coverlet Museum, or shop for antiques nearby. Cabin is close to Bedford and Everett, but on a quiet rural lane with no through traffic.
Enjoy the fire ring and picnic table in the yard, or dine inside with views of the tranquil, shaded yard. Cabin is rustic, with basic amenities including Wi-Fi internet, a flat screen smart TV, and a gas grill. It's the perfect spot for those who just want to "get away from it all". Please note that we do not provide sheets or towels. Also, please be aware that the cabin is not toddler-proof! Cleaning supplies are located under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom, and upstairs bedrooms have curtains rather than doors.
Please know that the health and safety of our guests is our primary concern! We follow CDC cleaning and sanitation guidelines as well as maintaining a 1-day (24-hour) buffer between rentals.

Please put kayaks back in the basement, lock the door and return the key to the rack before leaving. Contact Susan prior to using the kayaks.
Please try to limit water use. Don't let water run and limit wash loads to 1 per day if possible. Our well is fairly shallow.

We love coming here

We come to this cabin every year-- five years in a row now-- and we love it. It's clean, comfortable, the bird watching is excellent, and it's so quiet and relaxing.If this property ever went up for sale I'd buy it so fast.

Great little getaway

This was a great spot cute little cabin on the river Mothball smell was a bit intense but they did say we were the first guest of the season we just opened some windows and aired it out then it was fine for the rest of our stay. Beds were really comfortable we all slept great!

We look forward to this trip every year.

This cabin is clean, comfortable, and offers great views of the Juniata River. My partner and I come every June and we absolutely love it. It's quiet, secluded, and a great spot for fishing or bird watching. Can't recommend it enough-- we're already planning our stay for next year. Honestly, if the owners are ever looking to sell... I'd buy it!

A relaxing get-away

The location was very quiet with a gorgeous view of the fall foliage along the Juniata river. We utilized the camp fire ring regularly and enjoyed the nature around us.

Relaxing and quiet

We really enjoyed the serenity and peace of the woods since we are from loud NJ. House was clean, quaint m, had all the amenities and perfect for the 3 of us. A great getaway in the rolling hills of PA.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

Perfect location on the Juniata River. We saw deer, chipmunks, fish (BIG FISH), turtles and a Baltimore Oriole bird, yellow finch, blue heron. Peaceful - kids stayed on the river all day kayaking, swimming & fishing. Beds were comfortable and A/C was a blessing. PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!

Perfect getaway

Perfect getaway. The property was absolutely gorgeous. The house was completely stocked and clean. The river is a few steps out the door. It rained the entire time so we didnt fish much. The host susan went above and beyond. If you're looking to be off grid this is the place for you. We are already planning our next trip(we plan to stay a lot longer next time.

Peace and Quiet

We were looking for a quiet weekend getaway and this cottage was perfect. We enjoyed the covered porch and swing, listening to the rain and birds. The kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to prepare meals. The kayaks were a nice bonus as well. We would definitely come back!

Memorial Day Weekend

This was our third visit. It is a perfect spot right on the banks of the Juniata. It is not a far drive for biking the local HB&T Trail, Abandoned PA Turnpike and a little further away is the Lower Trail. Also several shops and restaurants in Everett and Bedford. This is a cozy, rustic getaway that we have come to very much like. Susan is the perfect host!

Juniata River Cottage

This was our second stay at the cottage. The property was clean, quiet, and very enjoyable (as expected). There are plenty of things to do in Bedford County including bike trails, hiking, shopping and nice restaurants. Susan was very gracious and accommodating and we hope to make next year our third visit.
