Laxárbakki is situated on the banks of the Laxa river in Hvalfjord. The surroundings have everything to offer. Only a few minutes drive and you are in Hvalfjord, one of Iceland's most attractive fjords. The country's highest waterfall, Glymur is to be found at the bottom of the fjord and it is well worth the trip to see it. Laxárbakki is close to Snæfellsnes which hosts Snæfellsjökull glacier, the setting for one of Jules Verne's most famous books, "The journey to the center of the earth".
