If you love Scotland, you love this place. Very nicely decorated cottage in front of a peacful loch. We all loved it and the kids did not want to leave. We would definately come back.
Absolutely breathtaking location and scenery! The cottage is comfortable and extremely clean. All appliances worked with no problems. The few times we communicated with Catherine, at the beginning of the stay, were answered immediately and always friendly and a pleasure. A great location for exploring Loch Ness and Inverness. I LOVED IT!
The Cottage and location far exceeded our expectations.
Our time at Brachkashie was just perfect for what our family wanted from our holiday. A mixture of relaxation, long walks and messing about on the loch. Then on the days that we managed to drag ourselves away from the cottage, it was the perfect base to explore what the highlands had to offer.
We would certainly come back and stay again.
Thanks Catherine and George for helping when needed.
Best regards
Colin, Nicky & Boys
As a family living in London we've been to many rental cottages over the years and this is by far the best.
The location is amazing, the house was fully equipped and the owners were available immediately for help.
We had the best family New Year ever - the boat trip up Loch Ness was a dream.
The house is appealing and stylishly furnished, the garden is very well maintained. Wonderful view of lake and mountains. The owners immediately helped with a question. Highly recommended.
We had a great week in this gorgeous cottage. The setting is amazing right on Loch Knockie and we made good use of the rowing boat and canoe as well as our own paddle boards. The kids loved it!
The cottage is beautifully decorated and kitted out and spotlessly clean.
Amazing place. We would love to come back.
Beautiful and comfortable cottage in a stunning location. Well equipped kitchen and no tv reception was a bonus! We were also fortunate that the weather was wonderful and the midgies few so we spent a lot of time outdoors. Hopefully- if the two NHS doctors in our family can get leave - we will return for another dose of this wonderful place!
Well equipped cottage with comfy beds, very quiet surroundings, good wifi, stunning view of the lake from terrace. The only thing that took a bit of getting used to is the distance to a supermarket. So one has to plan in advance the grocery shopping (luckily there are two fridges you can fill). But we were really positively surprised how much both kids and parents loved this cottage. We definitely recommend a stay in this small cottage.
Tranquil cottage right on a loch. Simply breathtaking beauty as you open the door. Brachkashie cottage is so welcoming. The beds are comfortable with the loveliest soft sheets and thick feather duvets. There are even sheepskin rugs for when you get out of bed, stylish hot water bottles for cold nights and a wonderful fireplace with wood supplied. Bathrooms include a bath and shower - which worked well for our family as some like to relax in a bath while others prefer to shower. The jetty onto the loch was a very special feature and my family enjoyed rowing the little boat to the island. Absolute heaven .
Some of the most breathtaking views you’ll ever see in Scotland and all on your doorstep. Every now and then you need to switch off from the world - immerse yourself in nature and brush away your troubles. Well this is definitely the place to do it. The cottage is stunning and has all the amenities needed for a large family holiday or a romantic couples retreat. It really has it all! George and Catherine have left no stone unturned to kit out the place and make it feel like home. We didn’t want to leave so extended our stay for a few more nights. They were both terrific in terms of communication and service was top notch. Anything we did need or require, was sent or explained very quickly:
Thanks for making our time here truly special!

Our dream holiday come true!
For several years we have been looking for a cosy cottage with mooring and rowing boat surrounded by beautiful scenery. A place where we can really be in contact with nature, enjoying its sights and sounds. Brachkashie is exactly that place and we found it at last!! We spent the days flyfishing, rowing, walking then had bbqs on the decking with the amazing Webber bbq and later when it was too dark to enjoy the scenery we played scrabble or read by the fire. There are plenty of good books and board games, no need for wifi or tv. The nights were so restful, there was nothing to disturb the sweet silence, just the lovely sound of a tawny owl every now and then. Then we looked forward to breakfast in the kitchen watching the constantly changing look of the lake with the trees and clouds reflecting on its sometimes glass smooth, sometimes choppy waters. We saw plenty of wildlife around the area (different kinds of birds, ducks, trout, frogs, hedgehogs, sheep and deer). We really miss all of it, but we have returned to our noisy, busy town refreshed and rested, knowing that we can return next year to our dream holiday cottage. Thank you so much both Catherine and George for being so helpful, kind and attentive. You explained and prepared everything so well for us. Thank you also for taking the trouble in arranging to send us the Bose noise cancelling headphones we absentmindedly left behind. We were bound to leave them behind as we had no need for them from the very first moment we arrived and were put away in a drawer and never missed till we were close to the airport and they started to be necessary again!
Everything about the property was wonderful. We all especially enjoyed the view and the cottage was clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. The lambs playing in the back garden was a unexpected bonus! Hope to be back soon.
We had a wonderful stay at Brachkashie. The cottage and setting are absolutely stunning and the location towards the southern end of Loch Ness provides the perfect base to explore the Highlands. There was so much to do as a family, fantastic walks, fishing, boating and sightseeing. Thank you for a memorable stay, we hope and look forward to returning one day soon.
The cottage is perfectly cozy located right by a beautiful lake. Everything was better than expected. The interior design is flawless and the fire place made us feel cozy in the evenings. The kitchen is well equipped. The landscape surrounding the cottage is breathtaking and canoeing on the lake is so peaceful.
Catherine was always there for us if we had questions and very polite. We'd love to be back one day!
We had a great stay at the cottage, it was very peaceful, comfortable and surprisingly spacious. We enjoyed playing games, boating and sitting beside the log fire. We saw all kinds of wildlife and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We had a good time watching the boats going through the locks at Fort Augustus whilst eating ice cream. The falls of Foyers were worth a quick trip, but most of all spending time beside and on the loch was a real privilege.
Brachkashie Cottage is in an idllic setting and the interior design is superb. When we holiday we seek properties that give a feeling of “ home from home” and Brachkashie Cottage certainly delivers in this respect. It’s a property we would have no hesitation in recommending. ( we have already shared details with many fiends who thought it great but unfortunately they have had to discount it due to the no dogs policy)
Highly recommend! Had a brilliant stay. Catherine was helpful and provided ample info on the run up to our break. The cottage itself is a home from home with everything you need and more, and the location is just breath taking. Have fallen in love with the highlands.
We had a wonderful relaxing week the cottage is as beautiful as the pictures with a fabulous view lots of wildlife and have great fun on the rowing boat and canoe! Highly recommended.
Had a fabulous stay, the cottage was very well equipped and the views are just stunning, just what was required post lock down. We loved rowing in the loch and did some great walks without having to drive anywhere. We also had some lovely days out exploring Loch Ness and the surrounding area. Highly recommended for a relaxing and peaceful stay.
