"It was in a decent location and was clean. However it did smell of something and the smell was difficult to shake… even with the windows and doors left open. There were lots of little things missing: no dish towels to dry dishes, no effective plug in sink to do dishes, no bread knife to cut bread, no iron or ironing board, no where to hang washing. Cabra Castle Hotel

"The staff at reception was helpful and quick, the room and bathroom were clean. What disappointed me was breakfast. Only one bottle of water on the common table for the entire dining room (we must have been 15-20 people) which of course ended right away. A 4-star hotel usually has an option for still and sparkling water, water is bottled and there are plenty of bottles for all guests. We ordered the small Irish breakfast and it looked really small in the big plate. Waitresses went back and forth without paying attention to the missing water and not taking away dirty dishes which in a small table sitting 4 people must be taken away immediately. The offer of fresh fruits was limited and the bowl was left almost empty at 9.30. I believe such a nice hotel should really step up their breakfast. Forgot to mention that we had to wait almost 15 minutes for a high chair!"

"The location couldn’t be better IF you get a room facing the water. Be sure to request. It’s a little more but worth it. We started in another room and overlooked the roof and heating/cooling. A bit dated decor but kept up. Plenty of parking. Restaurant on sight but food just ok. Friendly staff. May be a regular stopover for tours as one arrived while we were there."

"The night staff were ever so friendly. Only downfall is that the air conditioning in the room was not working, the window barely opened for air and we had to ask for a fan. We were kindly given a fan at reception, however the desk fan was so loud and hardly worked. Unfortunately our nights stay was so uncomfortable due to the heat, we did mention this on check out, but the morning staff appeared to be quite busy and shrugged it off. The woman behind the desk was trying to put the blame on us for not working the air con, when we tried lots of options and had also asked for help during the night to cool the room down. Neither of us barely slept. The bathroom also, wasn’t clean. The shower had multiple blonde/grey hairs around the switch of the shower and also black hair at the bottom of the bath. We did also have to send back drinks due to lipstick stains on the glasses. The furniture in the bedrooms does not match reception, it’s quite dated and the bathrooms are mouldy. I wouldn’t come back to stay another night unfortunately, quite pricey for what we’d got. The hotel looks gorgeous online and from the outside and we were so excited to stay."
