Family Friendly House with Master BR on Ground Floor

Perfect location, privacy, and convenience! Our property is close to everything and the floor plan is great for those who don't want to carry their things up and down stairs. The ground-level floor includes a modern living & dining room with a cathedral ceiling, complete kitchen with tile counter tops, large master bedroom, laundry room, and bathroom, plus a great screened porch with a relaxing hammock. There is WiFi and a smart tv with Roku. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms. One has a queen bed plus a day bed with trundle, and a half bath. The other has 2 twin beds with a full bath across the hall. Exit the screened porch and walk 1 1/2 blocks to the beach. The private fenced-in front yard includes a large gate which can be opened to provide a lovely view of Hamlin Creek across the street. With the many windows and cathedral ceiling you feel like you are living in the tree tops because our house is surrounded by ancient oaks.
Our property is 4 blocks from the Isle of Palms town center with shops, restaurants, and clubs. In addition you can walk a few blocks to the grocery store, seafood shop, and pharmacy. No need for a car unless you want to visit historic Charleston which is 10 miles away. The city not only has many historic sites, but also the South Carolina Aquarium and the new African American Museum.

We really enjoyed our stay. House was close to the beach and nearby restaurants. It was the perfect size to accommodate our family that included 4 adults and 3 children. Home was comfortable and clean would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic stay!

The home was rented for a family wedding weekend. The home was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 young children. The walk to the beach was very convenient and the house was comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended!

Perfect for our trip

The house has good space and was clean. The area was great for easily walking to the beach and restaurants. The house is older but it is in good shape. The owner was very responsive. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Always a Great Stay

This is our second time staying at this property and we will be back. Not only is the location and proximity to the beach and restaurants great, the owner is responsive and helpful! This house is nothing fancy, but it has all the amenities needed as a jumping off point for spending time at the beach! We definitely recommend this location for others.

Great Location

This is a nice spot for a large group, several beds and such a short walking distance to the beach. Driving into Charleston wasn't bad either. There were some wonky doors, and some minor details that needed attention, but overall we enjoyed our stay!

A cozy house close to everything

This was a very nice place to stay. It was great to sleep on comfortable beds, have close proximity to everything we had interest in. The issues we did have were quickly and completely resolved by the owner. She takes pride in her place and we were happy to stay there. This was a wonderful vacation. Particularly after staying places recently where we could not easily sleep. Would love to come back should we return to the area.

February Birthday at the beach

The house was exactly as described in the listing! We were very comfortable and slept great! We golfed Wild Dunes and Patriots Point, went to the beach every day, Pub crawled to The Dinghy, The Rip Tide and Smugglers Island. We had about a 20 minute drive to the Barn Jam at Awendaw Green, which was our best night activity. Best Dinner out was Long Island Cafe.

Great Location and True to Description

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is as advertised - an older, non-renovated home with great proximity to the beach and food. The mattresses probably need to be replaced, but our family doesn’t have back issues. Host was great and offered a pack-n-play which was appreciated. And our smaller kids loved the are out front - bucket swings and dirt for trucks! We highly recommend renting.

Nice house

Exactly as advertised

Thank you Carol for the use of your home. It came exactly as advertised for our deep sea fishing trip. We were looking for a great location without paying ocean front prices. The beach was a mere 2 block walk the day after fishing to enjoy the ocean and everything from groceries to restaurants, coffee to live music was within walking distance. Thanks again!!!

Amazing Beach and Boat Vacation

We had a multi event visit to Isle of Palms. My daughter was moving in the area, baby shower and Anniversary. The house was clean, well stocked, close to beach and marina’s and had an amazing fenced in yard. I own an 18 foot center console fishing boat (25 ft. with trailer) and was able to back it in with my truck on the side of the driveway with plenty of room. Driveway was able to be used without moving cars. Very convenient! All stores and many restaurants are just minutes by car. Isle of Palm Marina just a few miles away. Amazing fishing, boating and restaurants available by water.The host Carol is as sweet as can be! She made sure we had everything we needed and was available with any questions. Definitely treated us like family. We would rent this house again in a heartbeat (and probably will since my daughter now lives there). Thank you Carol!

Great Location in IOP

This IOP property was the perfect size for our party of 5 adults. We spent a lot of time out of the house sightseeing and shopping, but when we were there, we were comfortable. It's vicinity to the beaches and restaurants was great. The weather was great, so in the evening, we spent a lot of time on the screened in back porch. Carol was very attentive to our needs. The house is a little dated, but clean. If you're planning on doing a lot of cooking, just make sure you bring everything you need. The only condiments available were sugar, salt and pepper. (there were plenty of pots and pans) Some other VRBO's we have stayed in have had things like cooking oil or Pam, coffee and different spices, etc. Also, there was only 1 roll of TP per bathroom, so you'll need to bring some. Overall, we would definitely recommend this property.

Late June 2022 stay - bad mosquitos, stained towels/pillows and horrible beds

Carol is as nice as she can be, but this property has some issues. I gave this some careful thought before posting my review as I do not want to destroy anyone's livelihood, but my decision was clear when I wished someone had posted something so I was aware before renting. As some other posts state, the property is dated, but the stains on sheets, pillows, furniture and the molded shower curtain were a big put off. These are all easy fixes and we wish they were fixed for our stay. The mosquitos are horrible. Granted there may not be a lot that Carol could do to control these depending on what her neighbors do, but the gutters in this house are holding stagnant water and look as if they've never been cleaned. You can even see the overflowing debris on the very first picture of the listing. While I didn't inspect the gutters for mosquito larvae, I can only imagine that cleaning them out would help alleviate them. All 7 of us would get multiple bites every single day/night. Even on the days we never opened the door and stepped outside. On our last few nights, the dishwashwer (which we didn't use) was overflowing into the kitchen floor. Carol said this has happened a time or two before. Not sure if it's a partial blockage, but this should be addressed. On our last night the roof started leaking into the dining area. It was quite a downpour, but it leaked so much that the nails holding a picture were not able to hold up under the softening drywall. Also during some of the storms, breakers were tripping. The breaker is in the garage. Carol was able to come flip them for me, but it did take hours and one time she didn't reply until I prodded and didn't show up until the next day. The beds are in bad shape. All I can assume is the reviews before me were for people that stayed a night or two and not an entire week like we did. After a week on these beds, everyone was complaining, even our five year old. After a couple of nights, we realized we were out of paper towels and toilet paper, and we were passing hand soap around the three bathrooms. Carol messaged me asking me to take the recycle bin to the curb. I agreed if she could supply us with more soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Her response was, "Sorry, we only supply enough to get you started. A starter supply is provided as noted in the posting". I said there was no mention of this starter pack and a $3000 VRBO stay was a first for me to haggle over $6 of supplies.

Great House

This house was perfect for our family vacation. Absolute perfect location on Isle of Palms. Short walk to the beach and to several great bars and restaurants. Also very short easy drive to Sullivans Island and tons of shops and restaurants in Mt. Pleasant. Also easy approximate 20 minute drive to historic downtown Charleston.

Everything as expected

The house was perfect for our family. Everything that we needed was in the house, including the beach chairs and hammock on the back porch! Carol was easy to communicate with, very responsive, although we didn’t have any issues. The walk to the beach was a quick, easy walk. The house was conveniently located to all the stores and restaurants, we were able to leave the car behind and walk to them everyday. Very clean house, beds were comfortable, nice quiet area, house was what we expected, and as listed. Would stay here again if going to Isle of Palms!

Lovely house two blocks form beach

My husband, sister and I stayed at this picture-perfect home just two blocks from beach and within walking distance of restaurants, bike rentals and grocery store. The house is not huge, but it was comfortable and plenty roomy for us. And it was tastefully decorated and well-equipped. We spent a lot of time on the front patio and back screened in porch. The owner Carol was very prompt in answering any questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Beach Cabin

Walking to the beach, restaurants/ bars and groceries was all within 3 blocks. House had beach chairs and umbrella available. Enough room for our 4 adults and 4 young children. The house is a bit worn and could use a refresh on cooking pans, pillows etc.

Perfect beach home for all ages

Location very good, walking distance to beach and near grocery stores and whatever you need. Carol was the perfect hostess, Very good communicator. I was traveling with my aged and a little mobility challenged parents, so the one step up into the house and the master bedroom/bath w/ walk in shower was perfect for them, while the rest of us stayed upstairs. Darling screened in back porch with little lights, Nice area in the front (chairs and umbrella table), plenty of space to hang out, All amenities were perfect--- any kind of utensil we needed, was there. Even with no ice maker, there are 4 ice cube trays and a bin that we kept filled, and only had to get one bag of ice, and we are ice users!! Would definitely recommend!!! Thanks, Carol, for your hospitality and understanding!
