Expect an old building. They claim to be the oldest continually operating inn in Florida. The staff was great the location couldn't be better in the middle of Fernandina Beach. The breakfast was great.
I really enjoyed staying. We had been to place before for a family brunch on around 30 people. We loved the place so the next time I came to town and saw it available I grabbed it. I like they have their own parking available as street parking in old town is all pay to park. I enjoyed the Green Turtle live music next door. Rooms were quiet and a/c sufficient for this Alaska guy w temps in the 80s. I’ll be back. Great staff and service. Thx

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The room was clean and convenient location to shopping and restaurants. Great hot shower and charming decor. However, the upstairs balcony could use some much needed repairs. Broken rocking chairs and benches sitting around seemed unsafe. The flooring needs resurfacing and paint. Outside the property just needs sprucing up. The self serve breakfast was good. However, if you didn’t get right in there food was gone and no one available to bring out more.
Excellent location, within walking distance of everything. Convenient onsite parking. Our room was clean , and the daily breakfast was delicious. Julie, at the desk, was terrific.
The property is very nice and well situated in town. Breakfast was nice and the bar next door was fun. While I understand it is old and maybe difficult to handle certain aspects, the musty smell and apparent mold in the bathroom was unpleasant. However maybe this isn’t the case in the newer rooms.

Quaint rooms. Enjoyed porches. Loud music next door til after bedtime but we did enjoy listening a little earlier.
The staff could not have been nicer the breakfast was very good . The room was on the smaller side with 2 twins and it was kind of chilly in the room which the staff did bring us extra blankets and a small room heater which worked great !

Our stay was okay. This is a quant older bed and breakfast. What we liked good location. What we didn’t like was the bed in room 9 was so bad we thought it was going to fold in half on top of us. Woke up with aching backs, the sink, toilet and bathtub were so old the porcelain was worn off or dirty? No clean towels daily and free breakfast was cold and had to provide my own tea bag for a cup of tea. Beds were never made for the time we visited. And we did not see any staff through our visit as checking in was a basket with a key and note. We were disappointed in the lack of service and did not see anything that said there are no fresh towels or at least someone to make the bed. We had thought when we arrived we would come back but not sure now.
Perfect location. Super comfortable beds and good water pressure in the shower.
Good breakfast in the morning and everyone that works there is very nice and helpful.
Very nice. Considering this is a historical building and old, everything was great and the staff is really kind and considerate. The place overall has so much charm. We loved hanging out in the parlor. The “small breakfast” was perfect and delicious! My only request is they replace the mattress in room 9. Already talking about going back!
This is a totally charming hotel which is truly a bed and breakfast antique vibe. It is an old historic i nfull of rustic charm, a clean comfortable roo. With aur cinditioning in a prime downtown location.
Being historic, it is "low tech" our bathroom facilities while functional wer unconventional. The claw foot tub doubling as a shower in the room.
Overall if you are looking for modern amenities this is not for you but if you embrace a deep breath of fresh air, homey staff, a lovely breakfast with a beautiful courtyard and a cozy step back in time, it is absolutely delightful!!! We loved it!

Disliked: Cleanliness
Pros-Staff is nice, breakfast is good, unique place to stay, cost good.
Cons-Smells musty, dirty-didn’t look like they had cleaned the bathroom in a while, it had mold in the toilet bowl. I could go on about the cleanliness, but I’ll stop there.
The friendly staff at Florida House Inn made our stay great- from checkin through food service and room assistance. And they know everything and everyone in town, so you won’t miss a trick.
