The staff could not have been nicer the breakfast was very good . The room was on the smaller side with 2 twins and it was kind of chilly in the room which the staff did bring us extra blankets and a small room heater which worked great !
Perfect location. Super comfortable beds and good water pressure in the shower.
Good breakfast in the morning and everyone that works there is very nice and helpful.
If you want to lounge at the beach all day, stay at one of the beach hotels, but if you want to be in the thick of things, with dozens of shops, restaurants, bars, and night life, there's absolutely no place better than Florida House. It's a historic Inn, and literally on the walking and trolley tours as a place of interest on the island. The place is old, it's true, and so maybe not up to snuff on all the amenities you've come to expect (takes a while for the water to heat up, floor is a little crooked, internet TV only), but it's also beautiful, and if you're like me and the wife, the character of the place MORE than makes up for these minor shortcomings. There's live music next door every night, but they shut it down promptly at 10 (if you've got young kiddos, or you're an early-to-bed person, this may not be for you). We had a three minute walk to everywhere, had a great time, and special shout out to Julie, who ran her ass off to make sure we had everything we needed (including making me meat-free quiches and upgrading us to a king bed room). We'll never stay anywhere else, for sure!

Disliked: Cleanliness
Pros-Staff is nice, breakfast is good, unique place to stay, cost good.
Cons-Smells musty, dirty-didn’t look like they had cleaned the bathroom in a while, it had mold in the toilet bowl. I could go on about the cleanliness, but I’ll stop there.
The friendly staff at Florida House Inn made our stay great- from checkin through food service and room assistance. And they know everything and everyone in town, so you won’t miss a trick.
Room was super clean and comfortable. Considering it’s a historical old Florida Inn, it’s in very good shape. The lady that runs the place is absolutely wonderful. Only complaint was the noise from the band downstairs…but we are old and go to bed early, years ago that would be a perk not a complaint.
Great area and location, such a quaint historic place and the staff was awesome, especially the innkeeper Julie! We loved it!
Also, lovely breakfast included with inside and outside seating.
Went on a holiday weekend and had an issue with parking when we came back to the room after dark. Also, very loud room during the day and into the night. Was fine for us but I would be worried for an older crowd. But could possibly be due to the holiday weekend also. Loved location.
We, and others in our group have stayed here for the Amelia Island Concours a couple of times now and it is great location with many food and entertainment options within walking distance, if not right at the property.

Great place to stay very friendly breakfast was amazing!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff is friendly, the location is great, and the complementary breakfast was delicious. The room was as expected for an older building. This place has lots of character and a laid back vibe. We definitely plan on returning.

Liked: Cleanliness
We liked sitting on the front porch and listening to the musicians at the bar next door. We didn't like the 8:30am time for continental breakfast as we are early risers. We liked the location close to town.

My stay at the Florida House Inn in historic Fernandina Beach was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine Southern hospitality and warm smiles. The inn is full of charm and history, perfectly located for exploring historic downtown Fernandina’s shops, restaurants, and waterfront.
A huge shout out to Julie and Emily—they went above and beyond to make my stay special. Their kindness, helpfulness, and attention to detail made me feel completely at home. And I can’t forget the inn’s sweet, friendly kitty cats, who added an extra dose of warmth and charm—what a delightful touch!
I truly loved every minute of my visit and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend the Florida House Inn for anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming, and unforgettable stay in Amelia Island! 🏡🐾
