Awesome place and location!

Place was as advertised and more. Perfect location less than 1 block from the beach and Jax beach bars/restaurants. The 2 full baths is a huge plus if you are staying with a few people. We will definitely be looking to re-book this place in the future!

Great Pet Friendly Place

Was there for the JU Lacrosse game and the place is awesome. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants and bars. Very cozy and super comfortable beds.

Short walk to the beach and all the amenities. Plenty of towels and chairs along with a cart for going to the beach. Beds were very comfortable and description is good on listing

Property is as described. Great for kids. Plenty of toys and beach stuff plus drink coolers. Easy to contact management if needed and quick response. Had everything we needed for infant. Cute little cottage and private.

Great location!!

Great location! You can walk everywhere! We stayed here during house renovation and it was very comfortable! The walk in shower was great for my 84 year old mother who stayed in the bunk room a one night. Chris was so sweet to have fresh flowers, muffins and coffee for us. Highly recommend for a couple with kids !

Worked out great for us. Good location, nice fenced in back yard, beach chairs and towels, comfortable beds. Kitchen had all the cooking things we needed. Living room area seating for 4. Chris was great to communicate with and left lovely flowers and pastries for us.

Finishing out our stay

We moved into this property as we had to extend our stay in Jacksonville beach due to my husband’s job and our rental until this time was already booked. It’s a cute little house and really close to the beach and with in walking distance to shops and restaurants. If you fill all the beds in this rental you will be a little cramped on space when eating but it worked for my husband and me.

Adorable Little Property Just Steps From the Beach!

The property was perfectly sized for my family of four (two teenage boys, my husband, and myself.) Everything was clean and modern, and the keyless entry made everything so smooth and convenient. The courtyard was perfect because we could leave all our beach stuff out under an overhang. Nothing got wet in the rain, and we never had to drag sandy stuff in to the unit. It is literally a 1/2 block to the beach from the unit, and there is a ramp to get across the wide stretch of sand at the entrance. I couldn't have asked for an easier walk! Overall, we were very pleased with the location, the manager, and the experience overall. Highly recommend!

Great location but small

The location is great! We used to live in Jax and this is close to a lot of restaurants and the beach. Parking was easy and close. Be aware that you’re on the back property (that wasn’t clearly disclosed to us). It is very small. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids between the ages of 5-11 and it was very tight. There is a beach cart, cooler and chairs but you will need to bring other items like an umbrella, boogie boards, buckets and shovels if you have kids. The kitchen was bare minimum- oil Spray for pans but that’s it - if you want to cook, you’ll need to bring a lot. There was no cookie/baking sheet. The air conditioners need to be kept at a certain temperature otherwise they will leak so it can get warm & stuffy. Somewhat pricey for the size compared tonight VRBO’s.

It is in the back of the property as others have mentioned. So you share with another place you have to walk by first to get to this units front door. We didn't know this and tried the code on the front location and it worked so we walked in on someone else. The location to the beach was great, just a quick walk. It is clean but we did have bugs, including ants in the kitchen. Had to buy a closed container for our food. We thought the second bedroom was really cute. I would say overall it is fine for 2 people but would be tight in the general area for any more. All things above wouldn't stop me from staying again BUT it had a really bad smell in the entire place. That is also mentioned in another review. It is a musty type smell and I'm not sure how to eliminate it but that made the stay less desirable. All our luggage/clothes had to be cleaned once home because they picked up that smell.

Cute cottage

This was a wonderful place to stay in Jacksonville! It is perfectly decorated and recently updated. It is in a great location and an easy walk to the beach. Chris was very welcoming and readily available. We would highly recommend here to anyone looking for a place to stay in Jacksonville.

If I could give “Communication with property manager” 10 stars, I would!!! Chris kept the lines of communication open from the first time I messaged her asking questions until the check out process. Such a wonderful host. This home is perfectly located, just a stroll to the beach and Margaritaville. It was the perfect amount of space for me, my spouse, our 3 young adults, grandchild and our small dog. Perfectly stocked! We will definitely be returning.

Steps from the beach

The Whale 2 Cottage is at the back of the lot, on which the owner owns both cottages. This makes the cottage feel very secluded. The shared courtyard features chairs, a garden, beautiful flowers, and space for BBQing. I loved having a huge shower and a fabulous W/D set. May return to rent both cottages with another family.

Last Minute Beach Getaway

We decided last minute for a quick 3 night beach trip and Whale 2 was our choice. The location was perfect and it has all the necessities needed for a beach getaway. It’s conveniently located for walking distance to many restaurants and the beach is only steps away. Everything is recently remodeled, super clean, and the property uses 100% of the available space to maximize usage. It’s small but you will not be missing anything. Bathrooms are large given the space and they owners are very pet friendly with pet towels available. Love having beach wagon, chairs and umbrella… so you don’t have to pack extra. We will definitely be back on our short trip getaways. Thanks again!
