If booking with little kids bear in mind at least some bunks don’t have a safety rail at the top (e.g. ours), which even at an economy price isn’t really acceptable.

We stayed at Alpine Gables as a gateway to Thredbo for mountain biking. The accommodation was comfortable and parking very easy and felt safe leaving our bikes on the back of the car in the carpark. Having easy access to Woolworths for groceries, and directly across from the lake for a quick dip was great.

Good location but run down. Rooms are spacious and common areas are ok but it is obviously an old renovated hotel. The window an are single glass so you feel the cold and hear traffic. Also when we arrive one of the bed was not done. Not great!

Good size room, decent facilities however no cutlery which was bizarre. View of lake obstructed by service station across road. Bed was comfortable however was two singles combined. Probably wouldn’t stay again. Preferred Lake Jindabyne hotel across the road.

Convenient location and decent rooms….just a bit dark as the curtains can’t really be opened fully. Well appointed kitchenette. Bathroom needed an update. Matt was fabulous, very responsive to our needs! Would recommend for a short stay close to everything and reasonably priced.

Could do better

As I already did a check in review regarding our disappointment I won’t go into the details again. There needs to be a lot of change for this hotel to change our opinion and a lot more care when guests are unhappy if justified, in which our case it was. On the good side this hotel could be amazing with some maintenance and better housekeeping & some front desk service. it would be a nice place to stay. Great wifi, and convenient location with access to cafes and shops.

We had a great stay in Jindabyne thanks to Matt who was very helpful and accomodating. Our apartment had everything we needed and the location was fantastic, walking distance to shops, cafe’s and restaurants. We will definately be back!

Second time staying at this property, because of the great location. Do not be confused by the photos of the kitchen. There is a kettle & microwave only for heating ready meals & snacks - despite having good fridge & freezer, there is no oven or cooktop & signs up regarding charges if the alarms are triggered. If you are planning to cook for your family or group, this is not the place for you.

Good central location. Lovely renovated kitchen and bathroom. Room was extremely dirty. Some sort of tomato sauce on carpet. Property manager offered additional cleaning while we were out and some of it was cleaned but not all. Dirty table, bench, chairs, skirting boards. No aircon and room way too hot when 28 outside. Windows didn’t fully open. Ceiling fan dangling. Don’t mind older properties and often stay in older cheaper properties but cleanliness is non negotiable. Very disappointed.
