A very nice find close to Gordes and Roussillon.
We enjoyed a room with a balcony and beautiful view of the Luberon Valley.
We appreciated the elegance of the hotel and staff. Highly recommend.
The staff were super friendly and the service was extremely good. The fine dining experience is a must. Thank you.

A truly wonderful hotel that also has a restaurant that serves tasty and beautifully presented local food with a quality wine list
The Spa is clean and provides a outdoor Jacuzzi and barrel hot tub. The indoor steam room is one of the best I have been in.
Overall a deserving 5 star rated property from me
Beautifully situated property close to village and with luxurious rooms and nice facilities, including 2 pools and spa. A couple glitches but overall great service and price seemed reasonable compared to other similar hotels
It is a great hotel. For US travelers it leaves something to be desired for it being a 5 star. Issues with Wifi, acceptable bathrooms, great terrace, great Michelin star restaurant. Le Phoebus makes up for their deficiencies in good service. In remote location, it delivers comfort but have no basis of comparison
The first thing that comes to mind is the wonderful staff. Always attentive, present yet discrete, with a smile and trying their best to fulfil every wish.
The food and attention to details comes next as a very strong positive.
The location is great in a beautiful village, with many others located nearby.
The grounds are convenient, well maintained (helipad, bocce court, nice view from the pool, sport area, tennis etc).
Only negative is that the rooms which are designed to feel like an authentic Provence house are not up to current standards. They would be greatly improved with a lot more drawers and cupboards (could not unpack our suitcases), USB plugs near the beds, etc. And wifi repeaters should be installed throughout the property not only in the housing and pool areas

Disliked: Staff & service
Restaurant No Longer Worthy of a Star, Service Issues
This establishment's restaurant is no longer worthy of a star. Multiple faux pas:
We were greeted skeptically with a claim that we failed to make a dinner reservation.
We were shunted aside with aperitifs and ended up waiting 1.75 hours for a table, in spite of repeated assurances that our table would soon be ready.
When I asked again when our table would be ready, the maitre d answered condescendingly that "in France we can show our own selves to the table and not the other way". (I replied that I had been to France on multiple occasions and had never been treated in this fashion.)
The sommelier failed to pour our wine throughout the service. Once we were served desert a waiter nudged a glass of Beaume de Venice in my lap with absolute minimal apologies.
The food was good. Quite good. Lamb served in a pastry, soupe pistou were the highlights.
My advice: Either don't go at all, or go when on the day that the service staff has been paid and is perhaps in better humor. It's a shame that such good food and wine cannot be matched with the hospitality and service professionalism it deserves
Personeel was ontzettend attent. Kregen gratis upgrade en niets was teveel voor ons hondje

Not international 5 star class
This hotel prides itself on being a family owned 5 star luxury hotel with a Michelin restaurant.
Most staff effort seem to be focused on getting hotel guests into the Michelin restaurant opposed to making guests comfortable in their rooms.
I've stayed in plenty of international 5 star luxury hotels and Le Phébus is sadly nowhere near international 5 star class. Sadly a few - to me - important factors are missing:
1) Failure of staff to react or rectify a very noisy air conditioning unit in the room. Despite being informed of this noisy AC and the fact that a full night's sleep was impossible when AC was on, the hotel did not fix it, did not offer an alternative room or otherwise proactively approach me with a solution during my stay. Only upon checkout, when I told of my disappointment, the front desk reached.
2) Discount hangers in wardrobe, not proper hangers that one has a home but the ones that can only hang in the wardrobe. This is not fitting for a 5 star hotel.
3) Very pushy to book dinner at their Michelin restaurant. At every staff interaction, I was asked if I wanted to book a table at the gourmet restaurant. This felt very, very pushy and made me feel rather uncomfortable.
Despite the above, I had a very relaxing stay at Le Phébus and would return if they would fix the noisy AC and have less pushy staff....
Super fancy but super hard to find. Restaurant super high end and not many nearby restaurants so be ready spend lots money on drinks, food but at least you can enjoy beautiful view.
