"It was lovely to stay in a French chateau in the Loire Valley. Chateau de L'Aubriere is a characterful and lovingly restored building and as such is naturally a bit quirky. Our room was a little small for the price, although the bathroom and shower were amazing. Be aware if you have mobility problems that if you are on the second floor, there are a lot of stairs. It was great to swim in the pool although it could have been a little cleaner. The breakfast area is cramped but I understand that...

"Loved the Chateau! Great staff. Yes, its a little shabby around the edges (but can you imagine the costs to upkeep this building!). It has a lovely charm, the views from the terrace are absolutely stunning. Our room was huge, with a lovely balcony. We enjoyed sitting around the pool. There are tennis courts and also a spa (we didn't use, so can't comment on them). The restaurant is great and we had a wonderful supper the first night, but the only issue is that its a bit too expensive to eat...
