The first night we arrived, there were four police cars in front and more officers taking info from one of the homeless guests that had been beaten. "Elaine and Chris were fantastic hosts. They have adorable framed instructions near all items that need instructions. The house has everything you could need. We did a lot of cooking while we were there and the kitchen is totally lovely to work in. I have to say, everyone loved the shower! The home is large and great for groups/family gatherings. The wide driveway is large enough for multiple cars, eliminating having to move other cars to get yours out. There is also a Stewarts Market conveniently located directly next door. This house is close to town for shopping or bars, close to Hunter Ski Mt. and Kaaterskill Falls (which was amazing to see frozen!). One night, we ate at the Hunter Mountain Brewery for the best burger around! Elaine and Chris were super helpful when we requested a late departure making our stay even better. Would definitely stay again! Thank you Elaine and Chris for making our stay so perfect! "

Platte clove road.. A narrow, two-lane road that climbs 1,200 vertical feet in 1.4 miles .. Have grades as high as 24% .. If you want to travel this road it will be closed in the winter .. It's to steep for trucks to plow .. There are not guard rails so it has great views .. Low gears are better to climb it .. This logging road I think has the best trails and views of the high peaks !
