"Here’s the tightened version, keeping the cooking-show bit and all the important points:The moment we stepped through the door, Camp Yorkshire gave us a wonderful “welcome home” feeling. Is it huge? No—and that’s part of what makes it so charming. We’ve stayed in oversized homes with all the bells and whistles and barely used any. This was just right.As parents of a preteen autistic boy, we’ve learned that a home’s layout and atmosphere can greatly affect his mood and comfort. The uncomplicated layout here was especially agreeable for our family.We loved the compact kitchen. It had everything needed for homemade meals without feeling like we’d wandered onto a cooking show where someone was about to yell, “Hands up! Time’s up!” We ate well, nobody got eliminated, and cleanup was easy. The porches, charcoal grill, grassy property, and peaceful surroundings were wonderful.Matthew was a gracious, laid-back host and quick to respond. It’s clear the home is genuinely cared for.A handheld/massage showerhead would be a nice touch. We also discovered a turntable—I’d have brought records had I known! We couldn’t get the DVD player connected, but these were minor details that didn’t detract from our stay.One heads-up: Verizon service was limited, so Wi-Fi calling or WhatsApp worked best.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Camp Yorkshire feels like a home, not just a rental. Thank you, Matthew, for hosting us!"

"Nice concept and quiet space. Felt more like a rental cabin than a hotel experience. A little more rustic than we noted when viewing and booking. Bathrooms are very nice. Could have used more towels, which they immediately brought when we reached out. Very kind and friendly staff."

"Our stay at Starry Pines was very nice. The décor was charming shabby chic, and the space was comfortable and inviting. Our hostess was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We truly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return!"

"For the most part you’re camping so things are not hotel cleanliness. That I expected. The owners are clear and upfront about not having the time to clean after every stay. I had found the cabin to be clean enough. I did find some cookware outside the cabin that I ended up cleaning because it’s the right thing to do, and a couple things inside that could have been cleaner. I’m not fussy, but a little OCD so I see some things that most don’t really care about. Just expect you may need to clean a little if you are the same way. I appreciate blankets and pillows being stocked, but rather sleep with my own bedding. The cabins really cool and unique and slept great at night. I travelled with my son from Boston to Philly and through the Poconos before settling here for the last 2 nights of our week round trip. It was a spectacular time and found the camp and other places to be an amazing experience. I would love to return to explore more around the Catskills. Thanks Chloe for sharing the cabin!"

"The property was spotless. We enjoyed that it was a bit secluded, avoiding noisy highways and yet still convenient to tour sites in the Hudson Valley. The security system added to feeling safe. It felt cozy. The host could not have been better with communication.My only bit of concern is that the description accurately spells out 1 bedroom and 1 Bath. That is the entire interior of the cottage with no real place to sit and relax without sitting/lying on the bed. We have small dog who made himself right at home."
