It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Luxury in pleasant surroundings

A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. I had a large room with airconditioning and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was large and well presented. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Meals were high quality and well presented. I was an older female travelling alone and support provided assured a comfortable, safe environment during my time with the hotel.

Nice boutique hotel; still lacking experience

The hotel is based out of a refurbished house from the mid-century and has ample rooms, is clean and modern. The staff is attentive; we had a medical situation for which we had the staff support us in finding a solution. The hotel property is quite small (no more than a handful of rooms), and the staff seem very new. Though they are willing to give good service, the feeling is that they require much more training. Dinner and breakfast, for example, took a lot of time to prepare and the standard was not very high.

Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The meals were incredible and would highly recommend staying for a dinner of local cuisine on the property. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the rooms were lovely. I would return again and again.

Airavata hotel is a beautiful and well run hotel. It's away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy centre so it's perfect for some downtime after a day in the city.

Fantastic food, would recommend

We were upgraded to a Deluxe Spa Room as we were the only guests staying that night. The room was fantastic, although the toilet only being partly frosted glass may bother some. The food was brilliant, some of the best we had had in Sri Lanka, but the only criticism of it was that there wasn’t enough Sri Lankan options.

Fabulous hotel and service.

This hotel was amazing. The welcome and the service was beyond what we expected and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb, with thoughtful and delicate touches to the food to make fruit animal shaped. My daughter was feeling poorly and the staff made her a lemon and ginger drink. Rooms were lovely as was the pool. Highly recommend.

This beautiful boutique hotel is exquisite. Full of charm with excellent modern bathrooms and touches. We were greeted with genuine smiles and received wonderful hospitality throughout. The staff are extremely courteous and intelligent. The chef prepares all food to order and it is delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers of all ages. A short drive from bustling Kandy, a perfect retreat to rest and find peace on your travels. We will return. Thank you for a perfect two night stay.

We like how the hotel is surroundlyd by nature. You feel glose to the jungle even when in the pool. (In a good way). Very friendly and service minded staff. a little trouble finding the place due to an error in Google maps. The wifi in the room was to slow to be used.

Nice boutique hotel near to Kandy

Very nice boutique hotel about 4 km out of Kandy. The only problem was that the quality of the food was a bit mixed my advice would be to stick with Sri Lankan food which was very good international food not so good. Staff were very friendly and obliging and rooms were very nice and quite large. overall a good hotel for a short stay.

we were offered an upgrade as we did not like the original room, which was near reception and somewhat dark. We paid a small amount for an upgraded room which was considerably better. Cannot fault it. It was very quiet in the hotel grounds although the road up from the main road was not good; an oasis inside. Food excellent; wine expensive though. My only criticism was that it was a long way outside of Kandy and the it took nearly 45 minutes to get back there due to the heavy traffic.

The hotel is a haven of tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. Guests are made to feel like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble and even after checking out, the staff arranged for onward transport to Colombo after our train was cancelled at short notice. Overall, a relaxing holiday in very pleasant surroundings. Would definitely recommend this hotel for travellers seeking refuge from the busy town life in Kandy.

Quiet gem in the chaos that is Kandy

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in October 2018. This hotel is an haven of tranquility from the hustle and bustle that is Kandy. The hotel is in beautiful gardens setback from the busy Kandy-Pellekele road. The hotel is 15 minutes by transport from Kandy centre. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who were first rate from our initial welcome extending to further help when I was stranded at Kandy Railway Station on departure because of train cancellations, I phoned them for help and they arranged taxi transport to Colombo for me. This hotel and its surrounds really are perfect and I have no worries recommending it to fellow travellers, indeed if I return to Kandy I will use again.

A beautiful, peaceful oasis, a real gem.

Superb hotel, which is more of a stunning private home. The staff cannot do enough to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. The property is absolutely amazing, with great attention to details. Beautiful craftsmanship throughout. Airscata offers true luxury, peace and quiet in “almost” the heart of a crazy paced city

Oasis in a crowded city

The property itself is an oasis in a jumble of commercial and residential buildings. Set in a walled compound, approximately an acre of manicured garden and lawn the rooms are comfortably large, well furnished elegantly presented.
