"Exceeded expectations on every level-spectacular location directly on the beach, two rooftop and one courtyard pool (all crystal clean and perfect temp) beautiful spacious room, lavish buffet breakfast but best of all was the kind and attentive service from all of the staff. I f I could be dropped off by a drone, I would go back today in a heartbeat ( and maybe never leave) A true respite from the bustle of Sonetown-"
"when I made check in I was given opprrunity to choose between 2 rooms but at the check out the hotel manager insisted that I need to pay more than what the price was because they upgraded me. I did not pay eventually but had a bad feeling about this try.
The internet is very slow, the hotel is very far from the center of the town."
"The hotel was pleasant but a bit shabbier than the pictures suggested, also the check-in time was indicated as 7am on the booking but was actually 3pm"
"The room was okay but the water was always cold. So I complained about the cold showers but nothing. The little refrigerator didn’t work, also complained but nothing.
The room was nice and spacious "
"White Sands Hotel is a fairly large and truly beautiful resort. Not for a single second did I regret choosing this property for my stay in Dar es Salaam. The entire complex is very clean and regularly well maintained, and the same can be said about the room.
I appreciated having a refrigerator in the room; however, the overall equipment was rather basic — for example, there was no iron or hairdryer. That said, the balcony and the stunning sea view more than compensated for these minor shortcomings.
Breakfast was excellent every morning, offering a wide selection of local, English, and continental options. I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices.
The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay.
A small downside is the presence of crows, which won’t hesitate to snatch a bite from your breakfast or lunch if you leave your table unattended outdoors. Weekends can also be somewhat noisy due to social events such as weddings held at the resort, which might be slightly disturbing for some guests.
That said, I would be very happy to return to this resort on my next visit to Tanzania."
"This property is beautiful and breathtaking. The views and the finishes are immaculate. Everything was clean and luxurious. The food and the staff on the other hand were not. It took over an hour for our food and waters to come. The orders were totally wrong. 2/3 of us actually got sick because they did not listen to our food allergies. We waited 30 minutes for our bill to come. And then, after a small disagreement were told, we didn’t have to pay for food that we didn’t actually eat. It just seems very unorganized and their communication was very poor. Not a language barrier, more like a lack of customer service skills. We only stayed here our last night in Zanzibar because we had an early flight the next morning, but if I stayed again I would definitely not eat on the property. Had we not got sick they would have gotten 4 stars."
"They could not find my booking and said they are booked but managed to find a room. The restaurant service is super slow ended up leaving and going to KFC as no 1 came to take my order after handing me a menu. Music on xmas day was super load "
"Booked the place for a honeymoon, spent quite a considerable amount of money. The lagoon room we booked was absolutely amazing, loved this experience very much, scenery was immaculate.
Was let down by the overall quality of everything else unfortunately. Just as a comparison to other all inclusive’s in Zanzibar which offered much more for a fraction of the price. Overall quality of the product to its value was poor all things considered. Would unlikely stay again.
Some nice touches for sure like being greeted at the port. Staff are friendly and kind and try to accommodate but service feels like it’s new and a work in progress rather than a finished article. Menu for food isn’t very deep, quality was good on the whole but variety and quantity of the food and drinks was lacking. Simple requests like water bottles on our exit or fresh juices at breakfast not available some days, pastries running out. Some days the menu was restrictive and one day felt like we were given yesterday’s left overs.
Gym, sport activities, bikes are included which was nice. Atmosphere and entertainment at meal times were a nice touch. Attempts were made to accommodate us and make the experience nice was appreciated such as the honeymoon welcome.
Overall it’s feels marketed and priced as super luxury but on ground doesn’t meet those same standards, somehow feels as though you have to pay even more to get things that would otherwise be included in other places despite the higher cost. "
Bring the children to Wet n Wild Water Park and enjoy some excitement at this theme park in Kunduchi. Stroll along the seaside or visit the shops in the area.
