"We loved our room at Sleepy Station. It was spacious, clean, comfortable and great value for money. We enjoyed the tea/coffee making facilities in the room and the water cooler too. The staff were friendly and helpful."

"Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel.
When I arrived, I had to wait nearly an hour before anyone showed up at the reception, which was already not a great start. Prior to my stay, I had sent a message via Hostelworld requesting a quiet room, but this was completely ignored. I was given a room facing the street instead.

"This was my first stay in a hostel and I am glad it was here. The staff were amazing upon check in. I felt safe and the facilities were clean. It was very close to the airport so made getting transport early the next day very easy. Good wifi. I wish I actually got to stay longer because I feel like there was some fun areas I didn't get to check out! If I come back to Phuket I will definitely stay here again."

"Very noisy neighbouring bar playing loud music on one side of the hotel every night until midnight or 1am. It's an old grand house that is losing a lot of quality and has been converted into a jumbled café full of stuff. The staff are very friendly and kind. The beds and linen are exceptionally comfortable. One of the showers needs a lot of maintenance."

"Had a great time with the family, great pool and staff. Shops are very close and amazing food. Close to kata beach and a quick ride from Karon or a nice walk if you’re up for it. Will be back next year for sure."
"It was not only beautiful, spectacular, deluxe but all the staff were so friendly, helpful and cheerful. The entire place was relaxing…. Very Zen! Loved both pools, the food was delicious with lots of selection, the room was clean and a great location. The shuttle to the beach was very helpful and the driver very polite and friendly. The security man helping us to cross the road was very polite, professional, helpful and friendly. Loved the entire experience, and loved the spa

"We had an enjoyable stay at Novatel Kata Avista, Phuket. The staff were all very helpful and always friendly. The breakfast and dinner buffet were delicious. The negatives were that housekeeping often didn't clean our room until late in the day - inconvenient esp when you have kids and you want to settle down for the evening. Having said that - I did ask reception and they arranged for the room to be cleaned earlier the following day. I just feel it should be a given that rooms be cleaned by 2-3pm at the latest. Also, the hotel is located at the top of quite a steep hill - whilst it is walking distance to street food and markets, in the extreme heat, it makes for a challenging walk back to the hotel. The Kata Night Market was great!"
"I recently stayed at a hotel in Phuket, and honestly, it was a pretty disappointing experience from start to finish. The photos online made it look modern and clean, but in reality, the place felt outdated and poorly maintained. The room had a musty smell as soon as I walked in, and the air conditioning barely worked, which made it really uncomfortable in the tropical heat.
The room was full of bugs!!!!!
The cleanliness was another major issue. The bedsheets didn’t feel fresh, and I even noticed stains on the towels. The bathroom was worse there was mold in the corners of the shower, and the water pressure was inconsistent. Definitely not what I expected for the price I paid.
Service wasn’t great either. The staff seemed uninterested and slow to respond to requests. I had to call multiple times just to get basic things like extra towels, and even then, it took forever. There was no sense of hospitality, which is surprising for a place in a tourist hotspot like Phuket.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are definitely better options in Phuket for the same price or even less. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere."
Hostels are a great way to stay for a lower cost, so you can save your budget for going out. You can enjoy activities like shopping, and the beaches create an appealing natural setting.
