"We absolutely loved the Whale House! The location is absolutely beautiful and the area was very quiet. The unit had basic kitchen supplies but they were very limited. The in bedroom air was great and the bed was very comfortable. The beach across the street was definitely one of our favorite spots to go and relax. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit and recommend it to anyone going to the Big Island. "

"We were 4 adult women friends traveling through Hawaii. This place was wonderful! It was such a lovely drive to get here and it was very secluded, clean and comfortable for all of us. The ocean views were marvelous and all the frog singing is ringing in our ears. There were many many spaces to be in and those stars at night!Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful house and we hope to come stay with you again someday."

The home was immaculately clean, had everything we needed to be comfortable (including a washer & dryer), and afforded incredible views of the ocean (just steps away). The location is convenient for those based around Hilo and the neighbohood is quiet & walkable. We appreciated Liz's responsive communication prior to arriving and the ease checking in & out. "We were looking for a place to stay for the night outside of Hilo while exploring that side of the island. This little cottage is clean, spacious and directly across the road from a beautiful, secluded black sand beach. It was magical! We would absolutely stay here again and enjoy it for a longer stay. I would have loved a single serve coffee packet to have enjoyed on the lanai in the morning, but honestly should’ve remembered to bring some with me. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for having us! "

"I enjoyed my stay here. The place is one of a kind and each room is unique. I was reluctant at first because of the shared bathroom, but I never had issues when I needed to use it. There is also an additional bathroom outside that I didn’t read about or see until my last night. The outdoor hot tub and shower were all placed uniquely in the back of the property amongst nature. The location is super remote and takes some patience trying to find, but you stay here for that reason — off the beaten path. The grounds indoors and out were well maintained. The artwork at the entrance and books inside are provocative and edgy which matches the vibe of the place. The kitchen, dining area, living room and patio were spacious enough for those who want to be alone. Locks are provided on every room door for security. There is a house cat that lurked around. Not a fan, an allergic, but that was minor compared to the beauty of the place. Complimentary snacks are provided in the room, however some water in the kitchen for guests would have been good. Highly recommend "
