Summary:
Unwind in this peaceful woodland cottage in the heart of Kenwood. With 2 bedrooms and a cozy bunk room, 1 bath, and a bright, open living space, this 1,100 sq. ft. retreat sits right along a tranquil scenic creek. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, spacious deck, and easy access to 20+ wineries, Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, and nearby towns. Perfect for families, remote workers, and wine country explorers.
The Space:
Creekside Hideaway is where farmhouse charm gets a contemporary edit. Sitting under the canopy of a giant oak and towering redwoods, this home has been reimagined as an organic, texture-rich retreat.
Step indoors to a space that feels airy and curated. We have fully embraced an "organic contemporary" aesthetic, highlighting the home's natural beauty with white-painted planked walls, warm natural wood floors, and a pitched ceiling with exposed beams. The living room is anchored by an overstuffed sectional, woven jute rugs, and rattan chairs—a perfect blend of style and comfort. The focal point of the room is the white painted brick fireplace; a warm wood mantle perfectly frames the fireplace insert and the TV mounted above, blending cozy warmth with modern entertainment.
We designed this space to help you slow down. There is a dedicated reading nook with classic farmhouse windows that swing open to invite the fresh air and sunshine in. Just beside it, you’ll find a vintage-style record player in the cabinet. The best way to enjoy this house? Pick a record, sink into the reading chair, and listen to music mixed with the sound of the creek outside.
The kitchen is simple, clean, and delightful. Crisp white cabinets contrast with the views of the outdoors from the kitchen sink. It is stocked for real life, featuring a gas range and design-forward touches like the SMEG drip coffee maker and electric kettle. You can eat at the kitchen table for four, or take your plates outside to the deck.
The cottage features three distinct bedrooms, all designed for deep rest. The primary is a bright, airy retreat featuring a king bed, elevated by romantic wallpaper, brass lamps, and tasteful decor. The bed faces the creek so you can wake up to spectacular views. The guest room offers a comfortable queen bed framed by brass embellishments and charming farmhouse doors. Finally, the bunk room is perfect for friends or little ones, featuring a twin-over-double bunk bed. This room has a door leading outside and houses the home’s washer and dryer. All rooms have access to the home’s simple, clean bathroom which features a shower, sink, and commode. Both the guest room and the primary’s architecture leave the top portions of the walls open where it would meet the ceiling. This adds to the home’s charm and is shown in the photos. The bunk room’s walls go up to the ceiling.
The magic of this property is the water. Step out onto the spacious deck that overlooks the creek—it’s the ultimate spot for alfresco dining under the trees. Just off the deck, we’ve set up a gas fire pit for evening conversation. If you want to get closer to nature, wander down to the water’s edge where we have placed chairs right by the creek. You can literally dip your toes in the water or just sit back and let the current act as your soundtrack.
