The Tuck-Away @ The Starkey House is a one bedroom bungalow extension (and the perfect place to tuck-away) with a private entrance, outdoor shower, bikes, fenced in yard with darts & hammock swing, an indoor rain shower, king memory foam mattress, sound-proofed walls, a quaint kitchenette and so much more just steps from the Kerrville River Trail, the Guadalupe River and mere blocks from our Historic Downtown filled with coffee shops, cafes, and shopping.

The Tuck-Away is the back 1/2 of a 1950’s bungalow style home which is divided into two semi-attached private spaces(The Get-Away & The Tuck-Away) in almost a condo style fashion with double walls and soundproofing insulation. Each space feels like it’s own house with totally private entrances, privacy fenced outdoor spaces, and more. No spaces are shared.

The Tuckaway is a Hidden Gem near the river trail

The host has created a small dog friendly, cozy getaway. We loved being able to step outside into a secluded fenced area with a doggie waste bag dispenser.The property included dog bowls and treats. We also enjoyed the memory foam mattress.

Our wonderful little hideaway!

We absolutely love Tuck-Away! It is so private, comfortable and adorable. The check in is simple and the host is extremely nice and accessible. It was our second time there and we hope to come back next October!

Great location!

We loved our stay at the Tuck Away! Everything was just as it was described, very clean and lots of room! Beds are comfy and the bikes are a huge plus because we love the river bike trail! It’s also close to all the shops, restaurants and grocery store.

We loved our stay. The host is always available. The space was clean and so cute. The owners have paid attention to every detail to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is located near the river and paths to enjoy a walk along the river.

What a perfect place to spend the night before camp drop off. This was our second stay here, and we look forward to coming again. The bed and linens are very comfortable. The indoor and outdoor spaces are well designed. The property is very clean. The owner was very helpful answering questions about area restaurants prior to our trip.

Loved the welcome sign for our pups. The rocks were a little difficult for the pups since they're use to grass. Enjoyed our stay even though very short.

Long Ski Weekend

Great condo and location for teenage skiers. Renter was very accommodating and the communication was the best we have experienced. Would highly recommend staying here and renting from Shawn.

Mother & Daughter road trip to Kerrville with our dog, Scooter in tow

We were surprised with the nice welcome sign welcoming Scooter & the treats sure came in handy even though we brought some. We loved the getaway “Tuck Away” house, just perfect for us! Great location, loved the walks at the park & HEB!!!! We are coming back next year & will reserve Tuck Away again! Thanks for being a great host!

Wonderful Oasis in Kerrville

We were actually amazed at how well-appointed and sparkling clean this little property is. She does not miss anything - from the stocked coffee bar and honor bar, to the list of local restaurants and so much more. I was not expecting it and was pleasantly surprised. She is an amazing host! I will definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to friends! 5+ ******

Kerrville stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. This is the perfect little place to stay for a night or two. Beds were extremely comfortable! And the bikes were so fun to use- we had a great ride along the river on a beautiful morning! We will definitely stay at this place or another from the same owners in the future. Thank you so much!

Kerrville quiet spot

Great location just across the trails along the Guadalupe river in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect for a short stay with comfortable bed and nice living space. I loved the backyard with picnic table, swing and outdoor shower. Bikes were available. We invited our sons to come over for pizza and Keri was flexible and allowed us to have guests. I would definitely stay there again.

Lovely getaway, warm welcome

Everything was done clearly with the guest in mind from layout, recommendation and checkout lists to a courtesy bottle of wine and incredibly clear directions to property and parking to swing in the yard. Cozy and welcoming. Linens and pillows were awesome as was the bed. Location steps from Guadalupe River path, just lovely. We also enjoyed the hosts' restaurant, Grape Juice, and several of their recommendations on food and activities.

Very cute place!

Excellent experience. As advertised. Just be aware that there isn’t a real kitchen. There’s a small fridge, small sink, microwave, and Keurig. Perfect if you’re dining out for the majority of your meals.
