Lovely Home in Crestone (Great Views!)
10/10 Excellent
"My family was able to enjoy staying at this house over the New Year’s period and loved the location. Views from the living room were breathtaking and would be hard to compete with anywhere in nature. The mule deer are all around the home at night and fascinating to watch in the crisp winter air. Honestly, being in the middle of nature in a comfortable house is unbeatable.
Our family spent our days between the local hiking trail (down the street) and Great Sand Dunes National Park. Going grocery shopping before you arrive in town is advised, but the local grocery store is extremely well stocked.
The house is a perfect location for any family wanting to have family time in a safe, upscale (but casual/relaxed) house that is clean, roomy, has a washer/dryer (a must for families), full kitchen, two full bathrooms, and three bedrooms. The main bathroom is the nicest and has a clean jacuzzi tub.
We plan to return in the future, which is the best complement one can make! The host was also super responsive in an 'only if you need it' kind of way, which was nice and made us feel like trusted guests. The house and location near sand dunes, mountains, snow, and grasslands were exactly what works for our family. I would love to be able to hike the Willow Lake Trail daily. Basking in the sunlight of the living room windows is ideal in winter after coming in from a chilly morning walk!

Cabin | Geodome | Hot Tub | Fire Pit | Stargazing Pergola | Great Sand Dunes NP
10/10 Excellent
"This was such a fun experience in a stunningly beautiful place. It was impeccably clean, well stocked, and host Dan was very responsive. It’s always nice to know small nuances and for those coming I would say: bring firewood for the wood burning stove in the geodome. It is very expensive to buy locally, and is much more comfortable than the very loud heater that is inside. The full flight of stairs to the living area and kitchen meant we helped carry groceries for our sister who has joint and mobility issues, but the sleeping is on the ground level for suitcases. There was a discrepancy between the listing and the quoted cost of a late checkout, which we ended up not needing anyway. The outdoor living area was so cozy and we enjoyed several of the local attractions and art galleries. The sunset from the picture window and stargazing in the hot tub was a highlight. I definitely recommend this property if you’re looking for a lovely, relaxing getaway in an impeccably maintained property. "
"The Basecamp was great - I highly recommend. Rebekah was easy to work with, the place is lovely and the hot tub under the stars was just what we were looking for."
"Peaceful house, great location and well stocked place. Enough room to place a large dog kennel next to the kitchen table.Neighborhood is really quiet which is exactly what we needed. The crestone book was an interesting read and recommended perusing. Only suggestion is to add a deck of cards, uno, skipbo like games to the collection of games."
Unique and Marvelous Hideaway with the Cosmic Energy of Crestone!
10/10 Excellent
"The kitchen was very clean, had everything (microwave, stove, oven, dishes etc. They have a fenced dog yard (small but there with doggy bags). I ended up not bringing my dog but he would have been fine there. The outside in winter other than the very nice deck, doesn't look that great with the yard etc, but inside was wonderful. I was worried about heat, it was very very warm and we ended up not using the wood stoves (two) because the propane heating in the living/kitchen area worked well (we kept it off most of the time). Crestone is small but cute and the restaurant, Food is Art was wonderful and people very friendly. Was disappointed that to get to Great Sand Dunes was over an hour away."
