  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. This was a wonderful, peaceful, and clean place to stay. We enjoyed the pool and the short drive to the beach, restaurants, and other amenities. Everything in the unit was beautifully thought out and the host was so kind and provided very quick responses to any questions we had. We will definitely stay again!

Such great attention to detail!! One of our best VRBO stays that had items as described and unexpected little things. We will be back!! Host is awesome with quick responses and face to face interactions at times when seeing her. Quiet neighborhood and as for us beach front isn’t a must but the quiet peaceful time is!!

It was great weekend! Nice clean place very cute and home like! I wasn’t completely aware the residents stayed up there until arriving but it was all good they were very sweet! The heated pool didn’t work well when we were there though.

We had the best stay. An adorable well thought out place. The pool was so nice There was a really cool outdoor shower with hot water as well as cold. Centrally located ...it was gtreat!! The use of the yard and its amenities was a plus...bbq, fire pit and a well planned garden . It was bee friendly and eucalyptus!! Very soothing.
