"It was so pleasure for us to stay and experience Japanese culture in the hotel. Very surprised with their friendlyness- so nice and kind. Driver Ken was the nicest person we've ever met. He made the day for us, and he also made the high ratings of this hotel.
"Spacious unit big enough for 4 adults. The private onsen was a fantastic feature. As the hotel is close to a highway some traffic noise gets into the room. "
"Wonderful experience and highly recommended. Everything was great. Great location and wish I could have stayed longer. Great dinner and breakfast buffet (even for a vegetarian). "
"This was the first time my best friend Lina and I had stayed at a ryokan, and although it was a perfect trip overall, the only difficult part was walking up the hill to the ryokan with our luggage. The staff were very kind, and the two breakfasts and two dinners, each featuring exquisite delicacies, left us in awe every time. The temperature of the hot spring water was just right and gentle. What truly moved us, however, happened after we had checked out. While we were waiting in line at the...
"It was very nice to stay =)
The staff are super friendly. I can't praise them highly enough.
The rooms are spacious spotlessly clean. The location is nice with countryside views. We very much enjoyed the garden and saunas. The breakfast was excellent, too. A very nice place to really rest and relax. I would gladly come back."
"Huge house for family to share, wish we can stay even longer to well use the house and enjoy the Aso National park more!
Great facilities like kitchen, washing machine and jacuzzi bath tub."
"This is a new type of a Japanese "Ryokan", mostly self-services. Quiet area and much cheaper than other typical "Ryokan" in the town. Yet, I enjoyed one of the private-room onsen. "
"Hotel is fine ( very good for 2 stars ). They have private Onsens, which is great. Resturant staff were amazing in catering a vegetarian meal(s) for my wife. "

"Very nice room overlooking the river, sound of frogs and water running all night. Beautiful. Interesting Japanese menu for breakfast and dinner, great to try something new. Staff was very kind and friendly. Everything was amazing and memorable."

The staff were very kind, and the two breakfasts and two dinners, each featuring exquisite delicacies, left us in awe every time. The temperature of the hot spring water was just right and gentle. What truly moved us, however, happened after we had checked out. While we were waiting in line at the Yufuin Station, the ryokan owner hurried toward us and handed me my sunglasses. The truth is, I had left the sunglasses behind, thinking they were too old to keep. The owner had noticed I had left them and retrieved them while cleaning. We were so touched that we almost cried. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family, and we are already planning our next visit. Arigatou gozaimasu!"
"Beautiful, modern, very tastefully decorated property. The front desk attendee was very hospitable, a warm welcome to our first time in Yufuin!
Gems is a minute walk from the station / bus stop, and is located centrally to Yufuin town. The walk to Kinrin lake was beautiful, with views of the mountain on the street.
The room we booked was incredibly spacious, and although designed for 4, did not feel too empty for 2. The bathroom is so well done and so clean, with a huge bath tub that just invites a private soak.
We would stay again next time! "
"The best onsen hotel that we ever stayed at! the room is huge and hospitality was outstanding! also, dinner was very delicious as well! highly recommend this onsen hotel "
