"Our stay was fantastic. The apartment is very clean and equipped with everything you need for a home away from home. Our host was wonderful and very quickly responded to our questions. The location of the apartment was perfect. Quite yet close to everything in the main part of town. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you again for a great time. "

"We really enjoyed our stay in the Savoie Excelsior in Trieste.
We did not dine or drink in the hotel, so experience was limited to passing through the foyer and use of our room.
Our stay was to some extent marred by two aspects.
Firstly, the accommodation offered to us on check-in, while being a junior suite with balcony/seaview, was lacking important elements compared to the advertised specification. There was no table and chairs in the room and the shower was incorporated with the bath, which we consider unsafe. The initial response was that specification varied with rooms. However, the specification differed only on the downside in this case and no other Junior Suite was available that did fit the specification in Hotels.com/Hotel Website. It would be better if the hotel was actually precise in its specification at point of booking/purchase so a properly informed decision can be made. The Hotel’s response was an acceptably priced upgrade that did actually meet our needs and then more.
Secondly, the Hotel sought to add on a 5% gratuity to the whole bill - for staff. This is a novel development of the tipping culture. While they did not persist with this, it leads to an awkward situation. It did bring to my attention that an add-on to the rate quoted on Hotels.com of 10% for Taxes and Fees was already being charged, in addition to local city taxes. I would like to get clarification of what exactly is being covered by this 10%.
Fine hotel, well located. Be on the alert"
"Very helpful and friendly staff, wonderful sea view room with balcony, restaurant excellent seafood . Masseuse very skilled and relaxing. Piran is beautiful, compact and picturesque"
"Amazing suite. Perfect location. Extremely helpful bellboys, frontdesk, cleaning and roomservice. Pool is amazing. Too many children for 5* for my kind of holiday. Poolservice was probably a bit under staffed in low season and limited service around pool and beach area. Some younger men were helpful with sun shades, but hard to figure out the system since they were not wearing uniform and you should find them for help.
People still place towels and "reserve" sunbeds for all day, eventhough they are not around. It seems to me this will again be a problem in high season. Some sunbeds and shades are broken. Maybe more 5 star conference hotel than 5 star adult couple, without kids, hotel."
"The room was clean and in a good location. There was no A/C, however (we were told it was Sunday and there was no solution before we checked out). It was quite warm and it was quite loud with all the windows open. The WiFi was very poor."
"Check in was really bad. It closes at 1pm and you can only get your room at 2pm. A message was sent giving a code to get in the building & the same code to get your key from a safe box that has everyone's keys in envelopes. I asked for reserved parking well in advance but got no reply but assumed we had a space. Arrived with a full car & nowhere to park. Rang the emergency number and a guy turned up with keys to a nearby car park. He gave us keys but told us to park in the next bay. We locked the garage door & then could not get the car out again. Apartment was nice & good value for the money but freezer hadn't been defrosted & extractor hood cover fell off in your hand. The settee was uncomfortable because it didn't slot back together properly after I assume being used as a sofa bed. Pictures are misleading because the balcony shown on pictures is private to one of the apartments & not open to all.
Having said that it was a nice apartment.Good location. Nice balcony & great views from the 6th floor. Would be a great base to explore Trieste. Nice & clean"
"The staff wasextremely helpful and specially Tina who help us to get our lost lugagge back. It took her three days of constant chasing.
We had one of the only bedroom with a balcony and which I recommand."
"A fantastic family break for a week! The facilities are superb and accommodate for all ages: cycling, swimming, water slides, gym, treetop/go-ape adventure, beach, restaurants, gaming zone, arcade games. Plus local to the old town so a great area to walk, run and explore.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are well thought out with a breakout door for children and 2 tv’s. The rooms were kept clean by the service staff 2-3 times a day which was great.
The only improvement point to not was it’s a new resort, so some of the processes were changing and staff were giving different versions of what was allowed and what not - example around all-inclusive and whether we could swap buffet lunch for lunch at one of the restaurants. Also pool bar charges for water, drinks and ice cream, though in doors in the family bar it was free. So some disconnects there that need to be aligned.
Overall really enjoyed the stay and in a great location."
