Local description : Koserow, situated roughly halfway between Karlshagen and Ahlbeck, at the narrowest point of the island of Usedom, between the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser, is unique and diverse in its natural features. Whether you enjoy swimming, sailing, surfing, hiking or cycling, there is something for everyone here. The highest point on the island of Usedom, the Streckelsberg, is particularly attractive at 60 metres above sea level. From its steep bank, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea. From here, on a clear day, you can see the hills of Mönchgut on the island of Rügen to the west, and often the chalk cliffs of Stubbenkammer. Looking north-west, you can see the island of Oie, which attracts attention especially in the evening with the flashing lights of its lighthouse.
