We stayed for two nights and breakfast was average for the rates paid.

Desk staff delightful!!! Tried to eat in the “fine dining” restaurant, then when seated, discovered was pris fixe menu. We did not want seven courses. Young waiter was confused; Maitre de was rude, assuming we did not understand pris fixe, treated us with contempt. By the way, food in the bar comes from the same kitchen!

Definitely not four stars, extremely underwhelming room and bathroom. Building is historic and not modernized much. Did have a nice sauna, but not much for a fitness center. Parking is a bit of a pain. Staff were very friendly. Location is OK, but not necessarily convenient for sightseeing.

"Lovely characterful hotel. Very comfortable room with nice sitting area. Eccentric bathroom with no door so would not be good for friends sharing a room. Good breakfast and excellent evening meals. Perfect for our couple of chill out days by the river between city breaks"
