Comfortable with Great Breakfast

Clean and pleasant rooms. Nice features like a fridge and an outlet near the mirror for hair dryer. Lovely breakfast. Would stay again!

Very nice hotel located on one of the smaller Kristiansund islands. Large comfortable room with bathroom, coffee maker, fridge and settee. Excellent breakfast. Although the hotel is not in the centre of Kristiansund, the Sundbaten harbour ferry stop is about 150m away (note this only runs until about 5pm). Only negative comment about the hotel is that on our second evening, the restaurant was closed for a private event. This had not been pointed out to us when we checked in. Luckily there was a restaurant nearby (Dodeladen Cafe) which was very good.

The beds sag. Location is really not good if you want to see the town, though free parking is a plus. Very good breakfast. But I really was not happy to find that, contrary to the list of amenities on Expedia, there are no laundry facilities. Staff will send your laundry out for you, but that obviously is not a real option for road trippers.

Sheets were dirty but didn’t realize till the next day. Elevator broken. Under construction so entire outside was covered with scaffolding. Breakfast was below average. Views were beautiful!

Lovely hotel on the water.

What a beautiful spot for a lovely hotel, the service was wonderful we changed our room to a water view and slept with the windows open. Comfy beds, tea making in the room, spotless throughout. We had a delicious hot and cold breakfast. The hotel is over the bridge a 10 min walk or there’s a free taxi ferry that does 3 stops just 50m away, this makes it quieter and parking is free at the hotel.

The hotel was fine, lovely location and views across the water. The one thing that did stick out is that they charged you for everything in the way of amenities. You could borrow an umbrella, but you had to pay for it. You could get a charger for you phone, but you had to pay. A map of the city, you had to pay. It all seems just really nit picky and not very customer friendly.

Great location and very friendly staff.

The hotel had a parking space when we arrived with electric charging. The front desk staff was very kind and nice and got is right into a room since the THON in Oslo had an Unusuable shower. The only drawback was the room was very tight and ceeilings extremely low, so my husband felt a bits claustrophobic. The building is old, but they have kept it up very well for its age. The views were awesome and I liked being on the ground floor.

The place to stay!

Thon hotel was such a fantastic discovery. Immediately after this stay we booked the one in Alesund and can tell you that the whole chain is definitely the place to stay in Norway. Comfortable and, for what you get, also moderately priced. The place is beautifully designed with a boutique hotel vibe and if you get an ocean facing room you’ll feel like you’re floating on a ship. The whole hotel is inspired by generosity and kindness and you’ll feel the love the moment you get in. The staff was incredible, the breakfast is to die for, check out time is comfortable and even their special secret candy is the best I ever tasted. Highly recommended.

Property is a bus, ferry or taxi ride away from the main town, so location may put some people off if they don`t have a car. We had not stayed in a Thon hotel before but it was a revelation. At first glance it looks like a UK Premiere Inn, but looks are deceiving. The main building itself is a converted warehouse on the seafront, which gives it character, and the sun deck overlooking the sea is great. Of particular note is the restaurant, the food was excellent - deservedly rated in local guides as one of the best restaurants in town. The Halibut was sublime.

The property was amazing clean and very nice staff- all spoke English to some degree which made for very easy communications. The parking was ok- they are in the middle of making what will be a beautiful front patio so the temporary construction was taking some of the parking - but they had arranged and had some a bit further back. The area - has very little right around there - but the water taxi is just a stones throw and that takes you to the shopping and restaurants - so it’s a very nice place for peace and quiet and you can quickly jump over to the night life if wanted!! Super find and I’d go back!!!
