"Overall, a pleasant stay in a modest, nicely-equipped self-catering apartment with good communication and information from the owner. Conveniently close to the Beppu station and main shops in a quiet street. The layout of the apartment is a little unusual, but not a problem. However, there is a 30cm-high step between the living/bedroom area and the kitchen/bathroom area, and this would definitely be a problem for anyone with mobility issues."

"Staff was great but starting off with the parking that was weird because they had no sign and I had to go inside there to give me a map and then when I drove around looking for the structure itself, there wasn’t like a clear sign to say that you know this is where you’re supposed to park that was kind of frustrating. I mean, it’s kind of pricey for what you got. You have to pay for your drinks in the lounge I thought that would be covered but then again it was all right and then the food in the morning that was really great. I really enjoyed the food. In the interesting architecture in the interior was nice too that I appreciate but you know then again the problem is the value wasn’t as good. I don’t know if there’s other places in that small city to compare against. At night when I was hungry, we had to walk out in the rain looking for something to eat. There’s a lot of old school joints here and there, but it felt dated from a time long, long ago when it was gangster. The city was old and what can you expect?"
"Great location so close to the station and Buses to sightseeing attractions. The Tourist Centre at the station so helpful with all our plan’s & suggestions. Supermarket and 100 yen shop also at the station. The hotel has great evening drinks free each night & was a hit on our stay trying Sake Whiskey & Wine. The choice of pillows was also welcome & good face creams with lots of choices in the lobby. Our favourite hotel of our trip so far
we also enjoyed the fresh choice’s at breakfast each morning and the 200 yen laundry with free dryer was a big bonus."
"It was an interesting concept where guests remove their shoes and place them in lockers at the lobby. The entire hotel, from the lobby to the guest room corridors, was covered with tatami mats, creating a cozy and authentic Japanese atmosphere.
Check-in was fast and efficient, and the room size was very decent. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary cup noodles.
The onsen was one of the highlights of our stay. The public bath was spacious enough and never felt overcrowded. In addition, there were seven private onsen baths available for guests. Free ice cream was provided on the 13th floor, which is also where the onsen is located.
Laundry facilities are available on the 7th floor. The washing machines are free to use, and guests only need to pay for the dryer.
A complimentary noodle supper is served daily from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, which was a nice touch after a long day of sightseeing.
Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The unique tatami concept, excellent onsen facilities, and thoughtful complimentary services made for a comfortable and memorable experience."
"If you want to experience authentic Japanese hospitality, Amane Resort is your top choice.
If you want to stay in a spacious, clean, well maintained room with your own onsen overlooking the ocean, Amane Resort is your top choice.
If I return to Beepu, I know where to stay.
PS the included breakfast is icing on the cake; it was delicious & full of options"
"If you don't have a car and don't like walking up a hill or for 20 minutes to the nearest station, this is not for you. But if you can get past that, this place is gorgeous! We were on the sixth floor with a view of the mountains in a Japanese style room. Tatami mats, futon, floor chairs. The bathroom had the bidet but a regular shower bath combo. A little moldy from the lack of circulation and it smelled like urine the whole time even after cleaning. Gorgeous view7PMs of the ocean and mountains. We saw Hawks and other birds on the daily. Breakfast buffet and dinner buffet were complimentary. Great selection of food and drinks alcohol included. We also got access to the lounge for refreshments and drinks in between. Basement had coin laundry and onsen third floor had games and a reading area for Manga. Very enjoyable stay but again the hill was killer. The station was 20 minutes away or with a kid that doesn't want to sit in his stroller 30 lol. Very helpful staff. Only downside was the store staff helping with the luggage didn't speak English and she made us fill out the paperwork ourselves when the last 2 hotels did it for us."
