Great location for ferry and local bus services. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Loved the breakfast and home made biscuits! Only downside is I could hear laughter and conversation in nearby rooms at night so something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.

This is a unique property that is somewhere between a hotel, B&B, and hostel. I found it very peaceful with a beautiful view off of the balcony on the second floor. The staff were great...very friendly and helpful. This hotel also has the best food in the area and a great chef. Seriously, I tried them all. Don't waste your time, just eat at the hotel...where many locals do as well and hang around for a nice drink in the back room, which is very cozy. As for setting expectations, the rooms are as advertised and small on US standards with somewhat thin walls, but are clean and the beds were comfortable. Also, as advertised, there are shared bathrooms similar to a hostel, but I did not find it off putting, clean, and fit well with the historic nature of the inn. What I liked best. I mentioned to the staff that I had planned an early departure for a hike and would miss breakfast. They saw to it a box was set out for me prior to a 4:30 AM departure with a wonderful meal packed so that I got my money's worth and didn't go hungry on my 27km hike that day. That brings me to the area...absolutely stunning beauty in every direction. The hotel is a great option to base yourself from if you are looking to explore and hike the fjords and glacier. You can also head out on a boat, fish, or just do a nice half hour walk past a majestic waterfall and old palace. I also found the town had everything I needed within 100 meters to include grocery store and outdoor adventure store.

The hotel has a lot of history about it. The renovation did not change that. Current owners are very concerned to maintain the the way it has been in the past. They are great people and very welcoming.

Nice old hotel. Exactly met my expectations. Good meal and great breakfast. friendly staff. BUT it can be hard for me to climb stairs..... the stair were a challenge, but I managed. Sound proofing between the rooms could be improved.

Classic hotel in a charming place. Note that "classic" also means one toilet and one shower per floor, which is a disadvantage, but not impossible to cope with.

An old but very charming hotel!
The room at 2nd floor was renovated and very nice, cosy and charming. The hotel had the best ‘Corona-friendly’ brekfast experienced this year: Room number already at a table and a seperate plate with everything inclusive served soonest after seating. An old but very charming hotel!!

Cute little hotel
This cute little hotel is a great place to stay for a stop on your Norwegian road trip! Really shared nice bathrooms! Which was a nice surprise honestly and makes it possible for you to get a room without a bathroom!

Hei Takk for tilbakemelding. Du har valgt et av våre rimeligste rom med bad på gangen og to enkle senger. Vi har rom med egne bad men da selvsagt til en litt dyrere pris, men våre gjester har et valg. 980.- kr. for et dbl. rom med frokost mener vi ikke er dyrt. Men i forhold til hotell priser i andre land i Europa så er det sikkert dyrt. Frokosten er inkl. i prisen og den får vi faktisk mye skryt for, synd hvis du fikk en dårlig opplevelse det beklager vi. A good nights sleep
I booked this hotel for my son (Josh) who was travelling solo. He was greeted with a smile and received an upgrade, this was a great start for someone who had been camping in the snow previous to this. The room had underfloor heating, dressing gowns, towels, all in all a really nice to stay. He would stay here again.

Excellent location. Great dinner and wonderful breakfast. But not able to leave luggage prior to being able to check in as the doors were locked. Left a phone number but had no access to phone but information center across street were helpful. The staff very helpful. No elevator to get upstairs but they helped carry our heavy suitcases. Old fashioned but clean. Gave us upgraded room as we had a lot of luggage. They were wonderful

Hei Tusen takk for hyggelig tilbakemelding. Beklager at døren var låst når dere kom med Rødne -Hardangerfjord Expresen kl.11.00. Vi har utsjekk senest kl.12.00 og innsjekk i fra kl. 15.00. D.v.s at vårt personale skal rydde/ vaske alle rommene på 3 timer. Denne dagen var jeg på bagasje transport for Dicover Norway og derfor ikke på hotellet. Jentene som vasker rom stenger da hoved døren til jeg kommer tilbake. Håper dette var forklarende. Mvh. OveH

Characterful and comfortable hotel
Old guest house with creaky bits and sticking doors and winding staircases (not great if you're less mobile) but done up to modern and pleasant standard. We had no issue with noise nor sharing bathrooms. Breakfast selection excellent and although evening meal (extra) has extremely limited and unexciting sounding menu (veg soup or fish tartare, followed by veg pasta or beef stew and mash, then icecream) it was beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection.

Beautiful View, Close to Ferry Stop
Charming historic hotel located in center of Rosendal conveniently located. Just a few steps from the Ferry landing, which was very convenient when we landed at 8:45 pm. Hotel was operating at bare minimum service (no food or beverage service except for breakfast, no staff around all day) because of the Easter Holiday (Thurs-Sun), which seems like excessive for a tourist business, business, especially with businesses in the rest of the town also being closed. The breakfast was good with fresh baked bread and pancakes. Lots of toppings and options. We stayed in a recently remodeled upper floor room, which was lovely. Modern, sleek design married to quaint Norwegian features. We had a room with a private balcony overlooking the fjord. The view of sunset was breathtaking. My only complaint is that the room got very cold at night and was hard to keep war with the electrical heat unit. They provided a space heater which helped, but a chill settled. Fortunately I was alone and could use both the comforters provided. Ther were no blinds on two window/doors that open to balcony and the Main Street through town and the vertical blinds covering the other doors were flimsy and didn’t block light—lots of light pollution all night long. That would be hard during summer months when it does get dark at night. Bring an eye mask. No hair dryer or toiletries provided.

We had an amazing stay in Rosendal. The city itself was quiet with beautiful landscape. The Hotel has a lot of charms : old building, stunning views on the wather. The room was cosy. Breakfast was great. The staff were very helpfull and gave us excellent recommandations about the surrondings. We would come back anytime !

Wonderful location
Great hotel, absolutely beautiful location in the mountains, drive to the glacier, across the road from the fjord museum. I was expecting a youth hostel quality place but it is much better than that. Bedrooms are a bit basic but luxury bathrooms and a nice big sitting room for hanging out, great balcony overlooking the fjord. Excellent restaurant in hotel and a good Thai takeaway place in the car park opposite (this closes quite early). 2 good supermarkets within walking distance and the Bergen ferry on your doorstep.

To netters overnatting ifb restaurant Iris.
Vi hadde to flotte overnattinger på Rosendal Turisthotell. Den første natta var vi alene på hotellet, så vi fikk en herlig frokostpakke på rommet med alt en frokost skal ha. Den andre natta var det mye mer folk på hotellet, så det ble servert en flott buffet som ikke manglet noen ting. Flere av produktene var hjemmelaget. Rommet var stort med ballkong, og hadde en kjempe god seng. De som jobber å eier hotellet er smilende, hyggelige å slår gjerne av en prat.

Typical norway hotel. The owner is very kind, the breakfast is tasty and the rooms are very clean. The bathroom for share was always filled with fresh towels. The street in front of the hotel has low traffic and the cars drive slow because of speedbumps, we did not recognized it.

Veldig fint hotell sentralt i Rosendal. Hyggelig eier. Litt strenge frokostansatte, men de lot oss sitte så lenge vi trengte til salutt. Ingen kjøleskap på rommet, men fikk låne på kjøkkenet. Felles bad og toaletter var ikke noe problem. Rent og fint. God frokost og flott utsikt fra rommet.
