"Very friendly staff, clean and tidy room, walking distance to sea front one way and main town the other - about 5 minutes.
Breakfast amazing, even M&S zero fat Greek Yoghurt selection and perfect Avocado with lightly poached egg! Full English cooked fresh and looked very appetising.
Will definitely return!"
"It was great staying at the hotel. Ideal for going to the family BBQ a short distance away.
We are waiting for a refund as we didnt have breakfast. Thank you for a comfortable stay."
"We stayed here for just one night whilst we were visiting friends in Herne Bay and we will stay again! It was so convenient, there was parking around the back, and the hosts were lovely. We stayed in Room 3 which was massive! It had a little lounge area, a lovely bathroom and the bedroom area was big as well with plenty of room to get ready. There was also a fan in the room which was appreciated! Breakfast was lovely and the choice was really good. We can’t recommend this place enough. "

We had a lovely tapas meal on the beach at Billy Hundreds, great roast at the Peterboat Leigh on Sea and I would highly recommend the theatre and the pier

Good
Southend has a reputation which has changed greatly over the years. On a sunny or blustery day, I think it still has the charm of a typical seaside town and is still a lovely place to stretch the legs or have some fresh seafood.

Pleasently supprised as everyone had warned us that it was a misserable place. It was winter and very cold but didn't seem much different from other towns. Plenty of shops and sea front looks promising if you visit in summer.

It was a perfect place to go to be in your own head and unwind, wasnt really keen on the food and felt the arcades grabmachines seemed loosened which was a bit of a let down, so wouldn't go to them again, but overall our hotel and the weather was good.

Nice arcades and amusement park Area was kind of dodgy a lot of shouting late at night
"Lovely hotel, and a good price for the facilities. There was a wedding in the hotel, and I am pleased to say the late night music didnt travel.
Good breakfast selection, being constantly replenished including GF options. Very handy as a stop off on the way to France. £6 overnight parking charge, but was very secure.
I would stay here again"
"Excellent stay, breakfast was lovely, also had a veggie option for full English. Bed was really comfortable I slept better there than I do at home. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meal was delicious. As previous reviews have said it is a little dated and worn in places, but it felt like the seaside b&b of yesteryear. We will definitely visit again."
"Delicious breakfast options.
Very much liked the availability of ironing facilities on every landing.
Comfortable stay in peaceful seafront location."
"Loveley size room but very dated. Bathroom was very shabby. Enjoyed sitting by the lake having a drink. Loverly hotel by the lake but in massive need of updating."
