We stayed at this amazing property with our extended family during our first visit to Kyoto! The home has been beautifully renovated and felt like new. It had plenty of space for our large group of 8. It felt like we were living in a historic Kyoto house but with all modern amenities (ie AC, updated baths, etc.). There was only one western style raised bed, but the Japanese style floor beds were surprisingly comfortable. The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and served as a great home base for all of our explorations around Kyoto. Despite the description, the home is a bit further from the train lines than advertised. It is about a 20 minute walk from Kyoto Station, and 15 minutes from the nearest subway station. A bus line runs about 5 minutes away. It is a fair trade off for being in a quiet area away from the noise of Kyoto Station, but be ready for walk if arriving and departing with luggage from the train. That said, I would absolutely stay here again due to the space, local restaurants, and to experience the quiet side of Kyoto. Thank you for a great stay!
