Fantastic hotel. It felt almost like a fusion between ryokan and hotel. The rooms were modern with regular western beds and bathrooms but everything else felt more like a ryokan. Great location close to everything.

Great Hotel, Very Central

Fantastic hotel, located within walking distance of many of the local attractions like Nishiki Markets, Nintendo & Pokémon Stores, and the Onitsuka Tiger store. Bed was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen is tattoo friendly, a big plus! Rooms were well appointed with daily towels and cleaning services, and the hotel staff were super friendly, spoke excellent English, and were more than happy to help book restaurants and the like.

I had an amazing stay. This place is an oasis. Perfect relaxation and great style. They have an onsen that is tattoo friendly. The food is good, it was hard to leave.

Good price and well located especially for shopping in the smaller upscale boutiques. The rooms are long and narrow leaving little space on either side of the bed, but because they are long they’re not cramped.

It is so nice to stay in Candeo in Kyoto. So close to subway and walkable distance to Nishiki Market and even Shijō Kawaramachi. The room is clean and neat. The staff are friendly and nice.

A taste of traditional Japanese culture

A stunning combination of traditional Japanese and western hotel. The hotel was super accommodating and the staff friendly and understanding with any requests. The in hotel onsen is an extra bonus and I already missthe breakfast bento boxes.
