Please enjoy the feel of the tatami mats and the taste of the tokonoma alcove in the back room with a snow viewing window

10/10 Must-try experience!

For our stay in Kyoto, we had hoped to experience living in a traditional Japanese-style home with tatami mats and sliding doors. This hope was exactly what we envisioned and so much more! The home had the perfect combination of old-world charm with just enough modern comforts. The beds were absolutely heavenly — like sleeping on clouds! Bonus: The lovely old couple that hosted us were so sweet! They would write us little notes and bring us traditional Japanese desserts every day! We can’t wait to come back again!

Wonderful place to stay for a special traditional Japanese experience.

The hosts are wonderful and the property is in a great location and is a well maintained 120 year old traditional Japanese home. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone especially for families or longer stays.
